Re: UC Davis c/o 2015
I called financial aid and admissions today, and they both told me that if there was an offer of merit-based aid (not ot be confused with need-aid) then it would have been included in the admissions letter. Does anyone have any information on this? I hope not. This Kansas boy wants a piece of UC Davis but I am worried about costs...
Maybe there just aren't any merit-based scholarships?

Haha, I feel like we have been going through this together somehow, and since you applied a month before me with better numbers, I have been using you to guide my cycle lol...I am so ready for this to be over though!Green Glass Windows wrote:I'm flatteredmartorem wrote:Ahh I'm still waiting on USC and UCLA too...and your numbers are a lot stronger than mine!Green Glass Windows wrote:11/17. Just spent 45 minutes and $28 filling out the redundant Need Access form. I'm pretty sure my estranged father doesn't own a farm but if he does I don't have the slightest idea how much it would be worth. Words cannot describe how unbelievably pissed I will be if I get rejected tomorrow.

We applied to a lot of the same schools. The comparison between our cycles is interesting... I got waitlisted at Irvine but accepted at Hastings. You had the opposite happen. I got waitlisted at Pepperdine, but you got accepted w/ $25k a year. it's all whack

Yeah hopefully someone looks at your question and answers it as it would be very helpful to many of us. hopefully..lawguyjake wrote:I called financial aid and admissions today, and they both told me that if there was an offer of merit-based aid (not ot be confused with need-aid) then it would have been included in the admissions letter. calilaw received practically a full ride to Davis. But merit aid of this scale seems like a rare occurrence for Davis.

Re: UC Davis c/o 2015
for what it's worth...
applied back in october. waited. and waited. and waited.
finally e-mailed admissions in mid-january, only to be told that a) the person who was assigned to my file had been out until that day over the holidays (month long vacation???) b) i needed to send fall transcripts, but didn't get the e-mail that was sent out the month before because the person assigned to my file was out of the office.
now, it's march 1st, and i'm still waiting. my status checker has been at "awaiting review" since the beginning of february.

yep. i emailed admissions last night and they got back to me this morning saying that almost all apps are complete now and the process to go through them takes awhile (no shit...), but that they would try to expedite my app. i think this was mainly due to the fact that i told them about the delay with their office, indicated that davis was still one of my top choices, and reminded them that i am local and would like to stay here.

DAVIS DAVIS DAVIS
Hastings is a fine school and SF is a great town, but the school is in the ghetto and Davis has a very pleasant campus. Plus you can make friends with the Vini-kids and taste their homework!!

I could never imagine choosing Hastings over Davis, unless I got a SIGNIFICANT amount of $$$ from Hastings. Davis is actually my top choice, but I'm still awaiting eval T.TUSMCMatt wrote:aliceydu wrote:Yay! I've been accepted! I just clicked open my PDF decision letter.

But what about externship and job opportunities? I hear lots of Davis graduates go work in Sacramental instead of the Bay Area? The Tenderloin is ghetto but it's right in the middle of everything.USMCMatt wrote:aliceydu wrote:Yay! I've been accepted! I just clicked open my PDF decision letter.

Current undergrad here and received the admit letter today. I really don't want to spend another 3 years in Davis unless it's accompanied by some good money, but I don't see that happening :/
