The 3.2 seems a little bit scary to me as well. Perhaps you could write them and email and ask them if they have stats regarding how many people keep and how many people loose their scholarships?

Re: U of Miami 2015
Just got accepted myself and waiting on the scholarship offer, which I'm sure will come. I've heard about the 3.2 stip for most offers at UM, which is pretty ridiculous, but I sort of feel confident knowing that I could make the top 1/3rd. I'm a local and I know several students there, and they say it isn't too difficult given the range of their application pool.

How soon after acceptance does scholarship information come?

Re: U of Miami 2015
I was accepted in October and found out in December, so about 2 months. I think they do scholarships in waves, because a lot of people found out at the same time.

Omg... So I just realized after sending my app in and reading through it out of boredom waiting for a reply that I out that I was to be receiving a B.S. in Poli Sci and it's in fact a B.A. .. Should I try to have this corrected ahead of time or do you think they'll miss it and then I'll bring it to their attention afterwards?

1L here. I think last year they said that 80 percent of the people that with scholarships kept them. You'll be fine if you're willing to work hard.

Oh, not too bad then if it's 80%! I was more afraid it would be 50-50 or somethingIntraining wrote:backwards54 wrote:The 3.2 seems a little bit scary to me as well. You "think last year they said"? Was this from the administration or word of mouth?

Re: U of Miami 2015
I did literally the exact same thing on like 20 applications and I don't think it's had any effect. I'm wondering if I should send them something about it though...Prospect wrote:Omg... Got in a couple days ago...just checking in! Never got an email from them, and noticed my status checker had some weird message, so decided to call them up and the nice woman on the phone told me I was accepted! I'm from Wisconsin so this is definitely an appealing option...
