Oohhh... I forgot about the "new" medians. I think you're right on the formula. If it seems that they are GPA heavy, it is just because that median is pretty decent compared to the LSAT one.Cornelius wrote:It proves you're above both medians.northside wrote: It really doesn't. The only thing it proves is that I had what they felt deserved that money.
You don't know my softs. You haven't seen my resume. You didn't read my PS. Maybe I worked hard.
Like I've said before it appears scholarships are:
above 1 median=25%
above 2 medians=50%
Keep in mind the actual medians are 163/3.7.
For the people who got more than that, probably well above both 75ths/interesting softs/URM/whatever.

Idk. Honestly im just really depressed/scared. Sorry I'm a buzzkill. I am happy for people. Congratulations! You all deserve it. I'll start a waitlist campaign with LOCIs to UIUC as soon as the WL is official. This was my first choice though and my cycle could not be going any worse. I'm heartbroken. I'll devote what little I have left to UIUC, but facing the realities of unemployment after college is frightening. Law school or undergrad.

Not to really get into a debate with you, because the writing is on the wall, but it is pretty obvious that they are giving more scholarship money to slightly above 75% LSAT and slightly above 75% GPA... Those candidates seem to be getting more money consistently than 99% LSAT/ not above 75% GPA.

Re: UIUC 2015
I'm nervous too. Based on the info on LSN, I'm expecting to get in with a 25% scholarship... Would have loved to get 50% but it looks like they are relying on GPA a lot more than LSAT so I'm probably fucked. But I guess numbers lie.Gail wrote:Idk. Honestly im just really depressed/scared. I havent seen you around in a while! Cycle going well?DaftAndDirect wrote:In with 50% $$$ with a 3.7/170. Illinois is my Alma Mater and I would love to go back, but the effect of the scandal on the reputation of the law school does concern me. Will likely find a way to tactfully bring this up during a visit or a phone conversation with one of the admissions staff.

My #s are almost perfectly identical, and I got admitted w. 25% $$. Possibly a YP for you? That would still be very surprising to me, but with a 167/3.4/URM you have greener pastures anyway. If this is your top (or close to top) choice, I'd definitely recommend sending a LOCI and I would assume with the right persistence you should have no problem getting admitted.I am kind of shocked. I hope I didn't mess up my app.

Held. I probably should have ED'd to UIUC instead of ND. I love ND, but the odds of an acceptance from there is much more slim than UIUC. Damn, I really want to go to UIUC. I'm gonna work hard to get off the waitlist.

Re: UIUC 2015
I applied based on the amount of money that they were giving out last year. With my score, I thought I would be accepted for sure. Look at this guy from last year http://lawschoolnumbers.com/mez06BKCentral wrote:My #s are almost perfectly identical, and I got admitted w. 25% $$. Possibly a YP for you? I'm shocked on your behalf as well. I literally said "what?!" when I read that you were heldBmarce wrote:I am kind of shocked. I hope I didn't mess up my app.

You can review what you have submitted on LSAC. I would think that if they had a question on your app, they would have asked you to submit some supplemental material to straighten that out.
I believe some applicants will be withdrawing soon, so hopefully that works out for you!

This cycle has been very unpredictable, especially at Illinois.

Your numbers make you a candidate for much higher schools than UIUC, and they know it. If you're sincere, just send them an LOCI, they will probably budge. But yeah, has to be some YP there. But at any rate, just enjoy Northwestern.
