Sofia wrote:Northeastern was the first school I heard back from...I applied right after the Dec LSAT scores came out and got my acceptance notification within 2 weeks. I though having heard from them so soon meant that they were impressed by my application and was going to offer me some scholarship money...but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I was told scholarship offers are included in one's official acceptance letter. Has anyone had a different situation? Is it worth negotiating? I plan on attending the Admitted STudents Open House. Any tips?
Same happened to me. I applied EA and was accepted within 3 weeks, but did not get any scholarship money either. I do know some people have had success in negotiating money, but I am not sure how many/how much.

They did not negotiate with me...

So, I withdrew my application today. I hope someone who is on the WL or who hasn't gets my seat and scholarship! Good luck!

If you dont mind me asking sdphill, how much scholarship did you give up and what were ur numbers (GP/LSAT)? I plan on attending the Admitted Students Open House, hopefully I find someone to speak with regarding negotiating some money and its not too late. I have local options (NY/NJ) but really would like to go to NOrtheastern but dreading the cost of attendence combined with moving/living expense in boston

The waitlist doesn't seem to be too large, and I think quite a few more seats will still open up. It will suck to have to wait any longer, but I bet most people on the WL will end up in.

Has anyone received any news lately? I contacted admissions and they said most decisions go out in March, but its already March 22 and I am going crazy!

I haven't heard a thing. Applied EA in beginning of November. I got deferred on the last day possible. And I haven't heard a peep since. It's so frustrating!

If you don't mind me asking, when did all of you apply, and did you go EA? I applied towards the end of January and got admitted in 2-2.5 weeks. My numbers aren't stellar either, so it's kind of odd most of you are still waiting.

I applied in September, complete in October (EA). Was deferred in early January.

I applied October 31 not EA. I went under review 01/12 and still haven't heard anything. My numbers fall right in their ball park with a pretty good resume.

So I got my financial aid package today that has how much I'll need to take out in loans listed and everything, and it had on there $5000 scholarship. I never received any notification before about getting a scholarship, so is this notification that I've gotten one? Has anyone else gotten their letter?

I received my financial aid eligibility as well and mine only mentions the loans for which I am eligible, it does not mention a $5000 scholarship. That must have been a pleasant surprise when you saw it!

I received my financial aid package today too... I was notified that I was awarded 10K in my acceptance letter, but then I had another 10K scholarship in my package that I wasn't aware of. I guess that are giving out more money to help their yield?

So aside from financial aid packages that are including unannounced scholarships has anyone had any luck either emailing or calling financial aid and negotiating scholarship money??
