This is the last school I am waiting to here from, and the absolute decider of where I will be next year. It has become my first choice, even with a 75% scholarship to another school. I went "Complete" on January 5; "In Review" on February 11.

Re: UConn Applicants 2011
I guess it depends on how much you got. I got 30k for the first year and if I end up getting in state status after 1L, it's essentially the same as about 80k. That more or less puts it in line with the offers that I've gotten at peer schools.ElvisAaron wrote:Wow just found out that UConn only offers merit aid for the first year. I had no idea! maybe because they are state-funded?
Even w/low in-state tuition for remaining years that makes it a tough sell vs other schools offering substantial renewables.

Yeah not for me. My offers have been 80% or better for PT.ran12 wrote:I guess it depends on how much you got. Even if UConn offered 1st year paid in full for PT, I am in-state anyways and its going to be shy of other offers by a total of $20k +/- in the end. Ugh. UConn should be a great fit but I was really hoping to be near debt free on the deal.

I understand how you feel. I'd also like to minimize debt. One thing to keep in mind is that, at least when the legal job market was better, UConn's average starting salary was close to $50,000/year higher than Suffolk's ($125,000 v. $75,000).ElvisAaron wrote:Yeah not for me. I'm starting to see a lot of visiting prospective students on campus. Are any of them you guys?

I'd like to go. Do you know if UConn has tours or classes you can sit in on, etc? I didn't see anything on the website..Heartford wrote:I'm starting to see a lot of visiting prospective students on campus. Are any of them you guys?

Re: UConn Applicants 2011
I don't know any details, but there must be some way to arrange to sit in on classes because visitors have been coming to my classes all week. I'm sure you can contact the admissions office and they'd be happy to set up a visit if you're interested.ElvisAaron wrote:I'd like to go. Imma visit the campus on wednesday if things go according to plan. Does anyone know if it is a group tour or an individual tour?

I certainly haven't. UConn is definitely my number 1 choice and they're pretty much the only school that I've applied to that hasn't budged on the status check.WB333 wrote:Has anyone heard anything lately?

Man, this wait is getting grueling. My app was in and complete in November. I looked at all of their past cycles, and they definitely should be further along.

I still have not heard anything either. I went "In Review" on February 11th. I need to move, with my husband and two children, and we will not know where we are going until I hear from UConn. I hope we hear today. Good luck to all!

If you just went in review on Feb 11, you have a very long wait ahead of you.

Kitkat - it seems to be 2+ weeks from IR to Decision. Jay and I are In Review as of 1/28 and still waiting. I would expect to hear back in early to mid March.

Eh, this sucks. It's like the final countdown for me hah. They are so behind. It's going to be hard for them to catch up. It looks like they release decisions between 4 and 5 PM mostly on Fridays. Last year it was mostly on Thursdays. While this year it is mostly on Fridays, it seems like they are random about it and have released on Mondays and other days as well. I wonder why they didn't start reading any apps until January 4th.

DAMN IT. Waitlist. It's my top choice. ARGH. I don't know if the waitlist is for PT or for FT or what. Maybe I got rejected FT and waitlisted PT?
