i'm from new york...

PS on any of your calls did Dean Canada reference an actual point from your personal statement? anyone else find this incredibly cool? i'm sure i'm not special, but i have to say, that phone call absolutely made me feel like it. some of the things he said made me think "hey, this guy actually read my file. this school may possibly actually give a shit about me." the calls are a very classy touch...

He referenced some points from my personal statement too! I thought it was a really nice touch as well.

I had the same experience from Dean Canada. It really made my day. I've received calls from other schools, but the others just seemed rushed and it sounded like they were reading from a script or something. It definitely made me think more positively about Hastings and moving to SF.

Got the call from Dean Canada AFTER receiving the letter, but still a nice touch! He said from my personal statement he could tell I had a "strong sense of self" and "would make a great public interest attorney." Very cool.

Yeah, Hastings by far left the best acceptance voicemail and when I went in to visit a class, one of the admissions people sat down with me in his office and spent a few minutes talking to me about my concerns. They were all really nice. Even the guy in the office who sent me to the wrong classroom to sit in on.

I haven't received anything else from them yet, though. Any luck with the housing boards?

I went complete 11/5/10.

And I have options I want to attend more than Hastings, so no, I'm not too bummed.

Wow, I saw your stats on another post, I'm really surprised you were WL. I also have a 3.3 but a 165.. Guess that means bad news in my future. Too bad because I looove Hastings.

I know, and it can't be b/c of my app b/c I used the same PS I used for W&L, and I got in with $ there. I'm not saying I was a shoe-in at hastings, but I honestly thought I would probably get the green light.

This is kind of crushing. I really wanted Hastings...I just hope Davis, UW or L&C pulls through.

Anyone know how hard it is to get off the waitlist here?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
