Hi, all! Been reading this thread for the past few months and finally decided to register and post.

Thanks for the uplifting post. That is what I keep telling myself too, that “anything is possible.” Though I didn’t get a call, I’m keeping a positive attitude about the whole thing. I’ve had my heart set on U. Chicago since 2007 when I drove my younger brother up to take an undergraduate tour. I loved the campus, everyone I talked with was brilliant, and the whole thing just clicked. When I started to research schools more seriously I read what Chicago’s students had posted on these forums and my initial impression was solidified. First I applied to Chicago…sending out the rest of my application was a depressing chore; every time I sent one out I thought, “I would be so disappointed if I ended up there.”
I think that my numbers and essay give me at least a shot. Besides, my wife taught my little boy to ask, “Moving to ‘cago?” everyday when I come home from work…and that’s too cute to go to naught. So I’m staying positive and I’d encourage everyone else to think that way too!
