Do you happen to know if we will be able to sit-in a class or two?Bildungsroman wrote:Everyone get the email about the admitted students event? They did, however, commit the faux pas of referring to CU Boulder as "UC Boulder"

No clue. Sitting in on class isn't on the agenda (so I'm not sure why exactly they felt the need to schedule it during the week).

Eh, I guess we will find out soon enough. Sadly, I'm more worried about the potential 20 degree weather we might face. As a native Floridian, I am woefully equipped for such temperatures.

First time posting on this board, so apologies if this has already been addressed. Is there a way to notify admissions of your decision to enroll or not via the admitted students page? I wasn't able to find it. Have people just been sending emails? Thanks.

Does that mean we should email them too so our name is on that list if we're interested? Or am I reading way too much into this?"We have yet to hear from the Scholarship Committee about our process for this year. Re: IN at GULC c/o 2014
I just emailed them, just to be safe. Sticker at Georgetown would be tough to swallow, so I let them know that Georgetown was my top choice but that scholarship offers would be a major consideration of mine given uncertainty about the future of the legal market. I hope I didn't just commit some sort of faux paz.c_dubya_s wrote:Does that mean we should email them too so our name is on that list if we're interested? Let me piggyback this question and broaden it to, what schools do not allow deferrals for a year?Emma1 wrote:Is Georgetown one of the schools that does not allow deferrals for a year?

That's not true at all. I spoke to admissions at Georgetown and was told everything is handled on a case by case basis. Deferrals for a year are given for compelling reasons. Having a job can count as a compelling reason.Emma1 wrote:lawschooladmission.org states that NYU, Georgetown and I believe Fordham do not allow deferrals unless you are called to active military duty or have a life threatening medical emergency, but not sure this site is correct.

It's the same form as the seat deposit, you just check the withdraw box and don't send them any money.Raramuri415 wrote:What about to withdraw?ArchRoark wrote:Send in your deposit(s).Raramuri415 wrote:First time posting on this board, so apologies if this has already been addressed. Re: IN at GULC c/o 2014
Hey everyone, I'm currently a 1L here at GULC and wanted to offer to answer any "student-specific" questions you might have about G-town. I can't really help with any admissions-specific stuff, but I'm more than happy to answer any questions you might have. PM works best.
To the guy asking about sitting in on classes: I'm pretty sure you can come sit in on some classes if you come earlier in the day on Thursday (maybe even Friday afternoon?). You just ask the professors before class starts if it's all right (there are usually a few seats in the back of every class). The Registrar or Admissions office should have a list of all classes if you ask earlier in the day.
I look forward to meeting a bunch of you guys this week at the Open House.

Yes. I specifically asked about jobs. I imagine that if you write a well-written essay about why you want to take this opportunity and how it will benefit you as a lawyer, that you'll be approved.Emma1 wrote:Did they tell you that a job can be a compelling reason?subtle wrote:That's not true at all. For those of you who will be attending the open house this weekend and chose to stay with a student on Thursday, have you received any information on who you will be staying with and where?

Good news for those who need to defer and may open a few spots for others.subtle wrote:Yes. I specifically asked about jobs.
