Re: Tulane 2011
I finally found out that I got a scholarship, 20,000 a year if I can keep above a 3.0... awesome. I was not expecting that much at all! I'm definitely more interested in Tulane now.. I just have to decide which ASW to go to!

What are your other options? At a total cost of attendance of about 64k per year, 20k a year still leaves a total debt of 132,000...

Yeah...I got a similar scholly, and that's way too much left over for me.Aqualibrium wrote:ilovesf wrote:I finally found out that I got a scholarship, 20,000 a year if I can keep above a 3.0... awesome. I was accepted in mid-December, I just never got my acceptance packet, so no news was e-mailed today, sorry!2011applicant88 wrote:does this mean they sent out e-mails today, or did you get it via snail mail?

Yeah, it's still expensive, no doubt about it. I got a full ride to St Johns, but I never actually really wanted to go there, I only applied because I got a fee waiver and wanted to see what kind of scholarship I could get. I'm still waiting to hear back from 7 schools though, so I'm not making a decision any time soon.Aqualibrium wrote:ilovesf wrote:I finally found out that I got a scholarship, 20,000 a year if I can keep above a 3.0... awesome. Sending app tomorrow if I get a fee waiver.
Seeing as Tulane is absurdly expensive and not so highly ranked I would only seriously look at it with some good $$$.
Nonetheless, I send in app with 3.4x/167 numbers.

This wait is seriously getting ridiculous. Was on WL last year and removed myself (in another grad program and was going to have to defer anyways) and I've been "file complete" since 10/13. Absurd!

Same. I'm probably going to withdraw my application though, since judging from the offers I have I wouldn't likely choose Tulane anyways-- unless I got substaaaantial $$ (assuming theyve held us this long, isn't likely haha)plt06 wrote:This wait is seriously getting ridiculous. Ya, I'm waiting on about 15 more apps and $$ offers from some of my prior admits. But still, this not knowing is now at the point of becoming obnoxious since I applied at the beginning of the cycle for all but a handful of schools. I made a deal with myself that I wouldn't spend the time or money to visit Tulane, SMU, or Pepperdine until I knew I was admitted but it doesn't seem like that's going to work.

My advice, find out the schedule of all Tulane's ASD's then put off worrying about them until one is coming up. They often have a huge batch of acceptances right around the time of an ASD (especially the last one) so people can make plans in time to come visit.

Might not have anything this week b/c of the storm but I guess they might be able to review files and send decisions remotely.WashingtonJew wrote:According to LSN, they have had big batch between this week and late Jan...

Re: Tulane 2011
LSU is still sending out decisions, so I don't think Tulane would be too adversely affected.ran12 wrote:Might not have anything this week b/c of the storm but I guess they might be able to review files and send decisions remotely.WashingtonJew wrote:According to LSN, they have had big batch between this week and late Jan...

Re: Tulane 2011
FWIW I am complete since 12/07 and I called admissions today to see what's up. The lady with whom I spoke was very nice, but rather unhelpful-- she told me that she had no way of knowing where my app is/who is looking at it/time line for decision. She said that the status checker only updates when a decision has been made, but until that point they cannot tell me anything about being UR or anything. She told me to call back if I want another update, but that seems kind of pointless if she can't tell me anything

Yea, I've been complete since 10/1 and emailed admissions. They said they couldn't tell me when I would hear either. Over 3 months??? It's actually pretty ridiculous at this point - I understand that they took some autoadmits but this has been extremely slow.
