Re: BU 2011 Applicants
Just went complete, finally. Since that took over a month, I'm not expecting a decision anytime soon.

I was referring to last year's December acceptances.Gemini Hopeful wrote:Aren't BU acceptances via phone?HeavenWood wrote:Question: were these acceptances given through e-mail or over the phone?RPK34 wrote: Then, the Thursday after Thanksgiving, they sent out a ton of acceptances.

They were by phone.HeavenWood wrote:I was referring to last year's December acceptances.Gemini Hopeful wrote:Aren't BU acceptances via phone?HeavenWood wrote:Question: were these acceptances given through e-mail or over the phone?RPK34 wrote: Then, the Thursday after Thanksgiving, they sent out a ton of acceptances.
I'm really hoping they follow the pattern they did last year. Last year on that Thursday, it was about 30-40 people on LSN who got decisions (which is obviously just a sample, so there were probably a ton of acceptances).

Do we know if there is a pattern of how decisions are released? Weekly? Biweekly? Or just randomly?Gemini Hopeful wrote:According to LSN, no.HeavenWood wrote:I guess no decisions are going out today?

That's what I'm wondering. Also why do you think there will be no decisions today? Didn't someone say earlier that a bunch went out the Thursday after Thanksgiving last year?tea_drinker wrote:Do we know if there is a pattern of how decisions are released? Weekly? Biweekly? If you conveyed half of this enthusiasm in your application (via PS, additional essays, etc.), I wouldn't worry about getting in (assuming you have relatively competitive numbers).Gemini Hopeful wrote:Reading this thread only makes me jealous lol. The only additional essay option BU has is a Diversity Statement, which doesn't suit me. I'm a white girl lol. Nothing really diverse about that.
Here's hoping.

We write to update you on the status of your file. Before making a decision on your application, the Admissions Committee would like to review your grades from the fall term. When your grades become available please follow the directions provided by LSAC for updating your transcript information. After we receive an updated Law School Report from LSAC with your most recent grades we will continue review of your application and send you a decision as soon as possible.LegallyBlonde923 wrote:hmm no... what does the email say, exactly?valengina wrote:Anyone else get an email requesting fall semester grades?
Thank you for your continued interest in BU Law. If you have any questions you should feel free to contact the Admissions Office at bulawadm@bu.edu or (617) 353-3100.

I didn't get that either....That being said, the last fall that I went to school was 2003.valengina wrote:We write to update you on the status of your file. Hmm... does that mean like the equivalent of "deferred" like until later in the cycle? Are you a bit of a splitter?valengina wrote:We write to update you on the status of your file. Didn't get it, but people in last years thread mentioned it. I don't remember if there was any pattern to it though.valengina wrote:We write to update you on the status of your file. Yeah I mean I shouldn't really have a shot being a 165/3.65; I was just wondering if I was a special case, if this was standard and what other people who were getting this email were planning on doing.lawgrl21 wrote:Hmm... does that mean like the equivalent of "deferred" like until later in the cycle? I have to be honest, I'm not really considering BU at this point but was just surprised that there wasn't any action on this thread earlier today after I'd received the email. I thought it'd be a mass-mailing sort of deal and these sorts of things tend to blow TLS threads up.

That is a little odd since you're not really a splitter. What time did the email come?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
