Here's my theory, Dean Aguilar is limited to around 20% out of state admits. He is accepting the highest qualified out-of-state applicants first to get his medians has high as possible on that group with some YP. He then has his Utah auto-admits and then the rest of us; the 12/23 group. It's just a theory folks so don't flame me for at least trying to think it through.

Only 20%? I might as well just withdraw and end the suffering.

I'm afraid so; he is very up front on this on the workshop videos on the law website.

That odd! Did everyone else that got accepted get called by Dean Aguilar or did others get called by Dean Reyes too?

In today via a small envelope. I never received a call.

Pink - that's a good number for non-mormons vs mormons in the undergraduate student population but I don't think it flys for the oos in the law school. The state legislature wouldn't tolerate it!

Hm, so according to the current theory, we poor 12/23 souls are stuck waiting for a couple more weeks? The app deadline is approaching, and I'm guessing they will wait until this has passed, pick out the final top applicants, and then get around to the pool of 12/23ers. Ah, I have feeling we're waiting till March.

I think the point in the theory about waiting as long as possible to make sure they get the best applicants is a pretty good one that I've been believing for a while now. That way they can get the people with high numbers who get dinged at all of their top choices who decide last minute to apply to Utah....seems mean, and not very much like "rolling admissions," but like a solid possibility.

In with a letter on the 16th and phone call this morning. I guess scholarship letters will be followed up by mid march.

Got my acceptance call! Just five minutes ago. I cannot believe he called on a Sunday! My acceptance letter will be sent out on Tuesday and then a big packet after that. WOOT.

EDIT: I called him right back, and he told me he was driving in the canyon when he called. Awesome sauce.

First, a Utah number called but I couldn't answer because I was out for breakfast. When I realized they didn't leave a message, I was disappointed but they called again!

Good luck to everyone waiting for a decision. It is kind of weird that they're giving so many decisions on Saturdays and Sundays...

I did not answer the first time either, I had to call back. I thought it was someone from my church calling me so I was ducking it. Whoops!
