Re: IOWA 2011
I ended up getting selected as a " merit scholar" which includes full instate and out of state tuition for 1l and will qualify me for instate 2&3l based on being an ra for 10 hours a week.
So assuming I remain top 1/3, my col would be my only expense. My numbers are 169 3.83, so you may get some money, but I'd check past cycles on Lsn.
I was a bit curious about the stipulation as the only other scholarship offer I got with similar stipulations was from w& m where I'd have to keep a b average. Otherwise, my offers at uiuc, Texas, and saint Thomas only require good academic standing.
I hope people don't think I'm complaint, it's just something I'll have to think about since it's not guaranteed.

YAY!!!! Admitted via status checker today!! I had no idea the waiting this cycle would be so agonizing but getting acceptances makes it (sorta) tolerable.

stlisforlovers, congrats. I'm glad you didn't prematurely shoot your wad on what was supposed to be a dry run and then have a bit of a mess on your hands.

Re: IOWA 2011
Thanks all! I applied 9/30, went under review on 10/19 and then I saw "decision rendered " on my status checker around 11/22. I got my acceptance letter on 11/26. Like I said, I got the scholarship details earlier this week.neonx wrote:Nicely done! Congrats to everyone with recent acceptances.
I think scholarship info will follow about 10-14 days after news of your acceptance. Good luck.

If your pattern of letters is like mine, the next thing you'll get is the scholarship info.chrisbru wrote:I wanna know if I got any scholarshiiiiiipppp. How long does it usually take? I have to admit I was really excited when I got the second letter from Iowa because I thought it would have scholarship details. I was a bit let down when I saw it was just the form for my MMR vaccination records...

Yeah that was a little weird, eh? haha.
I hope that it's closer to 10 days than 14... It's going to be cutting it close to getting to Seattle before I head back to Des Moines on the 23rd (5am, so no chance at mail that day!) My company gives us almost two weeks off, so if I don't see it by the 22nd, I won't until Jan 3rd! YIKES!

Just wondering if anyone else had a personalized, hand-written message on their official notification letter that came in the mail. I figure it's probably pretty common, but was just wondering. Mine was from the Assistant Dean and he wrote, "Excellent motivation and leadership." Anyone else receive something similar?

I haven't received my letter yet, is it weird given my acceptance came out last Thursday? My ISIS has changed to admitted and so has my status checker.

That's odd. I was admitted on 12/6 and got my letter today. Do you live far from Iowa? It seems like people are getting their letters in all sorts of random orders, so who knows what the process is.tea_drinker wrote:I haven't received my letter yet, is it weird given my acceptance came out last Thursday? My status checker updated so that it says complete and admitted 12/10/10 so I'm not sure of the exact date, but I think it was around 12/2?brupe wrote:dreakol, when did you go in review? same for you stlisforlovers! ive been in review since 12/8 (so for 2 days) and just wanted a feel for average wait time

I live in DC area, but my permanent address is in CA, so not sure which one they will send the letter to. Hope to get it soon though. Do they send an acceptance package (w/ housing, fin aid, etc information)? Or just a letter?jayman6 wrote:That's odd. I was admitted on 12/6 and got my letter today. Do you live far from Iowa?
