It was just over 2 months for me between submitting and being accepted. While it's no fun to wait, 5 weeks doesn't strike me as out of the ordinary.

I was really surprised at how fast OSU moved for me. About 1 week from complete to decision.

OSU has been painfully slow for me. I submitted and went complete on November 3rd. I still haven't heard a thing, and my numbers are above medians, not to mention I'm a Columbus resident. I can only think they don't think I'll attend, since I chose to do UG out of state. :/

Did you write a "Why OSU"?

No I didn't, I ended up sending the same PS + DS set to all my schools.

I submitted my application early in Nov. and went complete on the 12th I think. I got accepted last week. I am RD and my numbers are not extremely high so I was suprised to get an answer so quick. I can only guess that they liked the fact that I am from New Mexico and wanted that state represented or something. I can't imagine there are too many qualified applicants coming out of here, but who knows?

I applied a couple of days ago and am now complete and under review. I received an e-mail today with log-in information to the Professional Admissions Office website, with an OSU ID number and temp password. Has anyone else gotten this e-mail? As far as I can tell, the website is just OSU's version of an application status checker.

Just got this email this morning, does everyone get it? Seems a little redundant that in the email it says to check the status of your app go to the LSAC status checker that they already sent out, but then they give you access to this website as well? Just hoping maybe it was a positive sign or something significant

They give that to all applicants for undergrad and graduate programs at Ohio State. Current Ohio State students already have their OSU ID, so they only can rely on the LSAC status checker.

I'm not sure about how many they gave out last year, but 2 years ago they awarded 6 Moritz Scholarships. I'm pretty sure they stay close to that number every year. Here are the links to a few of the winners from two years ago:

In addition to the standard application, Moritz Scholarship candidates are required to submit and essay about what kind of leader they would be after obtaining their JD as well as an additional LOR. That's what they told us at the open house anyway. Hope this helps!

That page says

For consideration, applicants are encouraged to submit an essay that speaks of their leadership abilities.

I wrote a typical PS-length essay (in addition to my PS) for consideration for the leadership scholarship. Then, after getting my acceptance I saw this page: --LinkRemoved--
where it states:

While there is no application required for consideration of this scholarship, applicants to the law school may submit a brief essay, of no more than 250 words, that describes his/her leadership capabilities or interests.

I haven't yet asked whether or not those are the same scholarship...just crossing my fingers they won't hold it against me that my essay was over twice the length they requested.

I never saw that 250 words thing about the leadership scholarship either. I'm pretty sure my leadership essay was more than that. So, you're not alone LWoods!
