To add to that, BU is the more incestuous school I've ever been to. Everyone in my section paired up - by Thanksgiving I started dating the girl who sits a row ahead of me. There were at least 4 other couples in the section - its pretty nice.
Aren't you a stud....
Hey man - you haven't done so badly yourself.
PS - this memo is annoying.

Applied early Jan. At least they gave me a fee waiver so it only cost me $12.

Does anybody know if its possible to get money off the waitlist?
I was all set to strongly consider BU if they threw some cash at me but then I just got a WL. I'm in at other places I would take over BU at sticker, but BU with $$ holds its appeal. Is there any hope or should I just write them off?

Thats pretty much as good a requirement as you could possibly get. Good academic standing pretty much means as long as you aren't bottom of the class and failing out. I'm not sure what the actual GPA figure is, but its really low. I talked to them about it, and they said they make it so easy to keep the scholarship in order to take pressure off the students, since law school is stressful enough. Compare that to schools that make you keep a high number and then stack the sections as to screw you over. I'd say BU is very considerate with those requirements.
Thanks for the info I didn't know any of this. Sounds good to me, I thought it might be one of those high gpa req's in a tough section type things. Thanks again.

$10,000 per year scholarship, notified today. Seems kinda late! I wonder if they thought I wasn't going to accept their offer.

Waitlisted today - 174 / 3.6. Will withdraw, needed big $$$ to go. Big surprise to me though, I didn't think there was a chance I would get the list. For the record, I have no ties to the area and applied late (mid-Jan), so I don't know if that affected my evaluation.
Good luck to everyone!

What were your scores, if you don't mind me asking? Cost was a big reason why I turned down BU. I haven't withdrawn yet on the offchance they offer me some dough.

How many of you got your scholarship offers increased? I want to attend BU, but I have some better offers elsewhere. How receptive is BU to negotiation?

Anyone know anything about how BU and Fordham compare for clerkships?
Also, what about BU's NYC placement?

I drafted a proper letter to the appropriate dean (I forget her name right now), and then I emailed it to her at the generic BU Law Financial Aid Office email address. I then sent the same letter to her via snail mail, but I also included copies of my scholarship offers at two peer schools. I did all of this about two weeks ago. Last Friday, I received a letter in the mail saying that my 45K scholarship had been increased to 75K. Awesome!
