I applied mid-January and got the acceptance this week

Good luck!
I was really on top of things and applied February 1st (their deadline) and was accepted last week. Maybe applying late isn't so bad after all

I've heard they love prestigious undergrad applicants - G'town probably sounded tasty to them

Congrats!
That said, I'm not sure applying early/late really helps or hurts for UCLA because the "Admissions Committee does not make decisions on a strictly-rolling basis" (in contrast to schools like Boalt)
Hopefully those of us still waiting will hear this week!

I'm not trolling, I seriously mean it, I'm waitlisted and I've already decided I want to leave, but for some odd reason I'm not withdrawing because I really want to see if I get in or not. And maybe I'll end up going? Who knows.
All I can say is, guys, the L.A. economy is beyond shit, so get ready for an ass raping, whether you graduate from Loyola or UCLA, lol.

Yes, because those at Berkeley fair so much better than the rest of the schools. Also, some local economies are that bad. Austin is doing gewd.

Berkeley placed 50% of its class in biglaw in 2009 - not including those who got clerkships, academia, etc

Yes, but there are numerous schools outside of the top 6 (some outside of the T14) who place as good or better than T6. Also some of the T6 placed worse than UCLA (look @ you, Yale.....)
It's just generalities like T6 or bust that can be misleading.
To be fair, Yale places much better if you look at clerkships + big law lol.

Well, that's that. Waitlisted ~166/4.0 applied in December. Barring something unforeseen, I'm headed to UVa.

What a wonderful option, enjoy that. I would trade you my UCLA for your Virginia if that makes you feel any better.

Hmm, I was waitlisted at UVA and got into UCLA! 170/3.42, I probably posted that somewhere else in here. I'm writing a LOCI, but I think I like UCLA a little better (visiting in a few weeks though).

Waitlisted via e-mail. They probably wouldn't have matched USC anyway so good riddance.

Waitlisted - 3.88/168. Kind of surprised but I'm already on 3 waitlists as it is and waiting for 2 more schools so I withdrew. Good luck to everyone else.

Got waitlisted via email yesterday. 171/3.46. This is my "unequivocal first choice". Keeping hopes up...
Any suggestions are welcome.

I suppose this is obvious, but during a tour of UCLA, one of the assistant admissions deans said that UCLA law (and most other law schools) mostly take students who express their unequivocal ability to accept a seat offer from the waitlist.
Of course, I'm sure it would bite you in the ass if you decided to renig on such a declaration - I remember at one of my UG's "pre-law" dinners, an alumnus from my UG told me at one of his friends told GULC that he would attend if he got off the waitlist. Then, he got off Penn's waitlist and tried to withdraw his seat deposit at GULC - and GULC threatened to sue him. I think the obvious moral of the story is don't try to dick over a school brimming to the rim with lawyers.

Not going to lie - i was hoping for UCLA or Texas (or UCLA

) to break the T14 for the 2011 rankings, but i guess everyone is stuck in holding formation...
