Well, I just called the admissions office and they told me 'it may have been an error.' BC is clearly playing with my emotions..fml
To ndb: I certainly hope so. I guess I'm in store for a long wait. I haven't received anything in the mail and I'm 40mins from the BC campus.

Got my acceptance today. Decision rendered 2/19 (I was "held for further review" back in December or something).

From your profile, I see that you got into several great schools that are higher ranked! Are you planning to go to BC or withdraw?hykang wrote:Got my acceptance today. Decision rendered 2/19 (I was "held for further review" back in December or something).

Hey I would say you're definitely a YP candidate! When did you go complete? Perhaps they're waiting for you to withdraw? If you don't that would show them you actually want to attend... :-/ This is my guess.

Jamie your scores are around the same as mine and people with higher scores have been rejected or WL! How were your softs and PS if you don't mind me asking? When when did you go complete? You can PM me if you like that better.jamielynn1981 wrote:hykang wrote:Got my acceptance today. Decision rendered 2/19 (I was "held for further review" back in December or something).

Hey! Yeah, after reading about other people being WL I was pretty nervous--there is still hope for those of us with not so great numbers!
In terms of my softs--I mean, I feel like it's all relative. I am graduating in May with a Master's in Social Work from Columbia and am a law minor, so I've been able to take classes at Columbia Law School and did pretty well. I have held quite a few leadership positions and am currently interning at the Bronx Defenders (which is pretty well known nationally). I've done a bunch of public service work all am currently co-teaching a course at Columbia School of Social Work and interning at Columbia University Press. My PS was okay--it spoke about how my experience working with oppressed populations has shaped my worldview and sense of self.
Wow that was kind of long--sorry for all the details--if you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer them! Good luck with your admission! Have you gone DR yet?

I got in last night and really like the vibes of the school (from the booklet/online). I'm pretty excited to have gotten in but it's just so much $$ at or near sticker. Wish I had a rich uncle to fund my education ha.

Lol, huh?
Ok fine, lol, I emailed them something and I hope to not get a decision before it's been added and reviewed along with the rest of my file.

I'm getting so antsy to hear from BU/BC. I love Boston and I've gotten into NESL & Suffolk, but you know, my heart is stuck on them :/

Re: BC Law 2010
I applied EA and was deferred to the February decisions. Went DR 2/23. Expecting rejection based on the rest of my cycle, but I just got an email from BC financial aid saying:
We have been notified that your application for admission to Boston College Law School is now complete. If you plan to apply for financial aid, we recommend that you start the process as soon as possible. As financial aid is awarded to students in the order that their financial aid files are completed, do not wait until after you have been admitted. In order to be considered for all aid programs at BC Law, your processed applications must be received by March 15, 2010.
Now, my application was complete by November 1, so I am a bit confused. Did every applicant get this email? BC was the only school I'm still waiting to hear from that requires the Need Access form (damn parent info) and I'm wondering if this is an indication of anything. Call me grasping at straws/blindly hopeful/etc but I'm curious...

Sorry I got the email about Need Access and financial aid like 2-3 weeks ago. It doesn't mean anything.rjp88 wrote:I applied EA and was deferred to the February decisions. Went DR 2/23. Expecting rejection based on the rest of my cycle, but I just got an email from BC financial aid saying:

And you are correct. Based on my observation of one person on the BC law thread, they got DR in less than a month and it was a ding.
I've been complete since 1/21 so it's been more than that for me. But only just. So I'm hoping to be waiting at least another week. I see decision pending on my status checker and I let out a sigh of relief!!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
