any advice on what schools might be helpful for scholly negotiation? haven't gotten anything from uva yet, but I'm planning on emailing within the next few weeks if i haven't heard anything. how deep into the rankings can i dip when mentioning offers from other schools?

Why would UVA send me a 5 pound package? Is it a brick and a letter rescinding their acceptance? haha

I'd hope not. If you've got a 5lb bat you're going to destroy your shoulders.Pozzo wrote:Softball bat?SweetTort wrote:Why would UVA send me a 5 pound package? Is it a brick and a letter rescinding their acceptance? haha
I'd bet it's some super special Dillard package...or the massive magazine they sent out a couple days ago. I got mine Saturday

Oh, it's probably the magazine (anxiety begins to fade). Haha, I suppose if they were gonna posthumously reject me it'd be an email rather than a package.mrgstephe wrote:I'd hope not. Not a chance they'd reject you after the Dillard and super early admit. You could honestly probably kill someone and they still wouldn't rescind (looking at you Tulane Law)SweetTort wrote:Oh, it's probably the magazine (anxiety begins to fade). T14 schools are a good bet, but I believe UVA isn't one for negotiating much. You might be able to leverage some money out of UVA if you have a very small or no scholarship and a full ride at a T20atlantahoo wrote:any advice on what schools might be helpful for scholly negotiation? haven't gotten anything from uva yet, but I'm planning on emailing within the next few weeks if i haven't heard anything. how deep into the rankings can i dip when mentioning offers from other schools?

have applicants typically heard back relatively quickly after interviews, or can it take a bit longer? after perusing this thread it seems like a lot of people heard back within a day or two....it's been less than a week for me [and I know I'm being neurotic] but already starting to panic as it's approaching March

I know that those of us still waiting will hear back about scholarship information by Friday, but every day that I check my mailbox and have nothing from UVA, my heart breaks a little.
I looked at last year's forum and at LSN and couldn't really get an idea of what percentage of people who heard back about scholarship funding only through SIS actually received a scholarship offer that way. I'm getting kind of worried about it, especially since I've been admitted for about four months already.

It's an absolute miracle that I was able to (and will be a nightmare when I) take off two days to visit berkeley

Are many other people waiting on scholly info to decide whether or not to attend ASW? Pretty short notice to book flights.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
