Agreed. Right now they have over 300 interviews completed and let's assume 40-60 accepted students. That's a lot of completed interviews that have been piling up. The JS2s will come eventually.unlively wrote:Yeah, my bet is something going on that's slowing down the faculty review.Nathanael wrote:Maybe the faculty review process is different this cycle?

Whoa whoa, this is how Columbus (nearly wrote Columbia) must have felt after he discovered the new land. Thanks for feeding my obsessionravel wrote: Set your iPhone time manually to some time in the future so you don't have to wait for lives. Open the game. You'll get a bunch of lives. Then, set the time to automatic again. You sometimes have to go farther and farther into the future with your iPhone time to get the lives, but it works every time. Now you can play 24/7! I'd quit my job or school. It's not an addiction. It's a commitment.

Also, I think JS2s will start before the end of January; seeing as how they have one of the earliest ASWs (in early March!?) and with people having to make travel arrangements, they should really start seeping them out at least a month before

I propose that we get four volunteer posters. Each of them should be assigned a quarter of the thread (first poster gets pgs 1-100, second gets pgs 101-200, etc.). If each of the volunteers does 10 pages per day, we can have this data in 10 days.pylon wrote: I think the # of waves and # of JS1s reported in the thread for this year could have more value if we had last year's thread reporting included, however 400 some odd pages is just too much to look through like psychmusic said.

it'd be easier if one really obsessive person came out of the woodwork and did it all in one day. I know you're out there.pulstar1 wrote:I propose that we get four volunteer posters. This is a great idea. I'd be willing to do pg 1-100. (I thought I was the obsessive person xylo mentioned and started, but got to around pg 30 and gave up lol). I have a spreadsheet I'm using to keep track of the thread this cycle, and we could create a similar one for last year. Three more volunteers?pulstar1 wrote:I propose that we get four volunteer posters. Um. I volunteer? I could do pg 101-200. Pylon, what info are you keeping in the spreadsheet?pylon wrote:This is a great idea. I'd be willing to do pg 1-100. I'm obsessive and redundant for the next 2 days, so I'll do pg 301-400 if you guys finish your spreadsheet and hand it over to me by then so the data doesn't overlap.pylon wrote:This is a great idea. This will take my mind off of Candy Crush for a while
Edit: Pylon, could you make a model spreadsheet we could use? I'm not sure which information should be included

Yes, pylon you have a proven track record. As Founder of Neurotic Data Solutions Inc., I am appointing you CEO. You'll be the man with the spreadsheet. The other three will report to you directly. Im counting on you guys to have this done in 10 days. Expect large bonuses if this assignment is complete before the deadline.

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Alright beanie14, foles, and musedreverie - I'll send the spreadsheet over via PM and we can consolidate from there.
Basically, from this year's thread I'm keeping track of:
Username, Event 1 (JS1, WL, Ding), Date 1, Event 2 (JS2, WL, Ding), Date 2, and Complete date, LSAT, and GPA if they've provided information. We might need Event 3 and Date 3 if people went from WL -> JS1 -> (JS2 or Ding), but I guess we can tackle that if it arises.
Makes sense to continue with the same format for last year's thread, right? Any suggestions?

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
So, I'm happy to share that last years thread seems even more neurotic than this one so far (although I'm sure every applicant cycle says that lol). Within the first 100 pages there was a poem composition challenge, stalking of how many cars were in the parking lot at HLS, lots of predictions, heated discussions, and GIF/banner sharing.

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Lol - when I was reading through last year's thread there was a poster who was keeping track of and sharing exactly what we're trying to find. However after they got a JS2 (in late November), the statistics stopped. So yeah, it probably won't get done if that's the case ahahpsychmusic wrote:What happens if one of you gets a JS2 before the task is complete- somehow I don't see you sifting through your final 50 pages of the c/o 2017 thread instead of celebrating.

I think it'd be really useful to have, and a good thing to establish as a year to year dataset to track trends.
