My original Why ND essay with my app was just one, my longest Why X essay ran about 1.5. I don't think two pages would hurt if you have legitimate things to say but i think of it as a supplement essay that's better kept succinct.imKMart wrote:So I'm writing a "Why" essay now that I'm waitlisted to articulate my reasons for why I'm interested in the school. Do you think 2 pages would be acceptable or should I keep it to the general one page?

That was my thinking. I had a lot of reasons as to why I wanted to go, but I narrowed it down to the 3 that really drive the motivation. Thanks!gilessanderson wrote:My original Why ND essay with my app was just one, my longest Why X essay ran about 1.5. In via acceptance e-mail. Went complete 1/20. Last date change I saw yesterday was 2/18.
Stats were 50>GPA/LSAT<75.
Will post $cholarship info when I get it.
If it's a decent amount I may very well matriculate...1/3rd of the class getting biglaw/clerkships is pretty solid, and Chicago is where I want to end up.

Submitted the scholarship reconsideration form. Have a phone call scheduled. Anyone know how that's supposed to go? I think in the thread last year it says they were e-mail exchanges, not phone calls.

Anyone from NorCal get an invite to a ND alumni meeting in SF. Probably going to go to it since I'm 95% sure this is where im going to matriculate (still holding out for usc before I make the deposit)
Any of you think Indiana University is peer enough that ND would negotiate money with??

Worth a shot, but ND has better placement than IU. Maurer is heavily Indiana. The worst thing they can tell you is no.Calbears123 wrote: Any of you think Indiana University is peer enough that ND would negotiate money with??

Just got the waitlist letter. Median LSAT; 25<GPA<50. Will probably wait it out...

ND is really pushing the whole "different kind of lawyer", at least in their marketing, so maybe they're gonna try to gauge whether you want more scholarship in order to situate yourself better for public interest or something. Let us know how it goes.NoOneImportant wrote:Submitted the scholarship reconsideration form. Have a phone call scheduled. Anyone know how that's supposed to go? Did your status change on the checker without deposit numbers, before the letter came in?
edit: sorry to hear about the WL

Looks like the Status Checker has a new look. They added Decision Status and Decision Date.

looks like they also got rid of the deposit fee section as well. Has anyone that submitted mid January (I went complete 1/20) not had a date change yet? I cant decide if this is a bad sign.

FYI. I think SCs have changed for all schools. I've checked 4 other schools, and all of them have a new look. I can't say I like the new look since the most important information is not at the top. hth

Has anybody gotten fee waivers from Notre Dame? It's the only way I'll apply, I've already spent too much money on applications

hi @adil, I got a fee waiver. Solicited. I applied to all schools except 1 on fee waivers. I noticed that they tend to give them out like candy. Hey good luck tomorrow!!adil91 wrote:Has anybody gotten fee waivers from Notre Dame? It's the only way I'll apply, I've already spent too much money on applications

Thanks! You are so kind, you've become my favorite poster. I've solicited a waiver, if I get one I'll apply as soon as possible. With my stats should I write a Why Notre Dame? I'd like to get as much money as possible, Notre Dame looks like it has slightly better employment stats than WUSTLLawsRUs wrote:hi @adil, I got a fee waiver. Solicited. I went complete 1/23 and no changes ever since. Not sure what to think at this point and my stats are right on target...cutieluby wrote:Bilka wrote:Looks like the Status Checker has a new look. They added Decision Status and Decision Date.
