+1. I usually check my mail like once a week and then toss them out almost immediately.sinfiery wrote:I don't. I just wouldn't want something important sitting in my mailbox for over a week. Too paranoid.

I just dont get it. so im a sep complete and nothing. if they were going to accept me wouldnt they have already? is wl/ding inevitable at this point? i just really thought a 172/4 would be enough. maybe i shouldnt have settled on that score.

Round the corner of my block. See mailbox ajar. Sprint to mailbox and excitedly pull out NCE from Columbia. Rip NCE open. Find Columbia brochure, nothing else. Anyone have the same thing happen? Is this some kind of sick prequel to full ride acceptance or something?

For you NCE folk, did a CLS brochure come with your letter? Harv, does the brochure seem admitted student-specific, or just general admissions baloney?
This is a terrifying prospect.

Re: Columbia c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I might be slightly different as an ED admit, but when my NCE finally came (1st of Feb.? Give or take a day?), it just contained a single CLS-detailed folder.
That folder held 3-4 pages detailing some housing options and other misc. stuff, and more importantly, a letter containing my login info for the admitted students' website. There's an admitted students' handbook available in PDF format on that website, I'm assuming they're mailing it later if at all, as I haven't received it yet.

The NCE I got contains a letter and three pamphlets that were stored in a blue folder. I hear that there's a second envelope containing an "Admitted Students Handbook," but I think that the letter comes first.ph5354a wrote:+1Anonymous4444 wrote:it means god hates you

The brochure is general admissions. Having browsed this thread's hilariously panicked and neurotic posts for some time, I couldn't help but share the experience. God hates us all. Or at least most of us, it seems.

I'm sorry if this has been asked already, but did anyone else get an email about admitted student programs and the admitted students website? I'm not sure if this was sent to me in error, because as far as I know, I haven't been admitted yet...? Is it just a generic email they send to everyone?

Congrats (I think, knock on wood)! Is your mail unusually slow or something? I would hope that Columbia would have their shit together a little more than to send out an admitted students email to someone who hasn't been admitted.square_peg wrote:Thanks guys, from now on I'll be checking my mail 6 times a day. :3

Hm...I live on campus, and the internal mail sorting system is usually pretty efficient. But every now and then, stuff gets delivered several days later than expected.ph5354a wrote:Congrats (I think, knock on wood)! Is your mail unusually slow or something? I got this before I received my admissions packet as well. In fact, I still haven't received my NCE. However, I called admissions and they confirmed that I have indeed been admitted. I am sure you are in the same boat!square_peg wrote:I'm sorry if this has been asked already, but did anyone else get an email about admitted student programs and the admitted students website? New strategy: call daily claiming that I have received an erroneous admitted students email and ask for them to verify if I have been admitted.mls wrote:I got this before I received my admissions packet as well.
