call back and find out.....cylon_clone wrote:Help!
I received a phone call from a mysterious (510) zip code but couldn't answer it because I was at work. They didn't leave a message. Looked it up and seems to number originates from Berkeley Law. My status still says under review (since 1/30). Do they normally call? And with good news?!

ah, now i'm feeling more neurotic about it and wishing i had called back today to ask. i wasn't expecting to hear anything until next week, it came up on my phone as "oakland, ca", and i was out so i kind of forgot about it until i read this post. argagalgfjgatorapplicant wrote:so weird, this happened to me last night and i missed the call as well. i'm currently under fr. i wish they would have left a message!ralph_pootawn wrote:call back and find out.....cylon_clone wrote:Help!

You should still call back - it's only 3:00pm out here on the west coast.gatorapplicant wrote: ah, now i'm feeling more neurotic about it and wishing i had called back today to ask. i wasn't expecting to hear anything until next week, it came up on my phone as "oakland, ca", and i was out so i kind of forgot about it until i read this post. argagalgfj

It's West Coast time, so it's not too late yet - a little after 3pm.gatorapplicant wrote:gatorapplicant wrote:so weird, this happened to me last night and i missed the call as well. i'm currently under fr. i wish they would have left a message!ralph_pootawn wrote:call back and find out.....cylon_clone wrote:Help!

I looked up posts from previous years and it seems that phone calls are a great sign. I'll give it a while and if they don't call back, I'll try the number. Waiting through the weekend would probably be torture.
*added bonus: Berkeley's ASW aligns perfectly with a Rachel Maddow book tour stop...in Berkeley.

just tried like five times from two different phones and kept getting the same message, "you have reached an invalid pager number". i'm thinking it's just a weird coincidence, nobody else under fr has heard back yetmikeylikesit wrote:You should still call back - it's only 3:00pm out here on the west coast.gatorapplicant wrote: ah, now i'm feeling more neurotic about it and wishing i had called back today to ask. i wasn't expecting to hear anything until next week, it came up on my phone as "oakland, ca", and i was out so i kind of forgot about it until i read this post. argagalgfj

I am still under review, but I was filling out my financial aid information and the Berkeley supplement requires a student ID number. Does this mean you can't fill out this form without being admitted?

Re: Berkeley c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
the gap between admits and rejects is starting to close! looks like they're looking at high LSAT/low GPA before low LSAT high GPA people?

I want them to hurry up and decide on me-- I'm going mad. Berkeley is my dream school but a pretty big reach, especially since I am being waitlisted left and right...

I wonder when they start looking at people with low LSAT/low GPAs!gravityrides0 wrote:the gap between admits and rejects is starting to close! looks like they're looking at high LSAT/low GPA before low LSAT high GPA people?

I'm going pretty mad as well. I was invited to a fancy dinner at UCLA Law the other night and met Professor Haney Lopez, who teaches at Berkeley. He told me that he's swamped with applications to review this weekend.

I think they fill out the lower/borderline numbers with Faculty Review. My impression is that the are more essays/recommendations/softs-oriented.
As a thread, we ought to develop a battle plan.

Quiet here as well. Then again, I submitted right at the deadline. Hollistic means they have an excuse for taking a long time and procasinate on your app

I think "holistic" is another term for "yield protecting", at least in regard to Berkeley...
