I've heard quoted several times on TLS that the Hamilton cutoff is roughly 3.8+, 174+.
Yeah, that's about what I hear too. I guess I should phrase the question "is there any idex above which a certin scholarship becomes automatic?"
I believe if there was ever an auto-Hamilton, your stats would pretty much be it.

Quick question!

I'm sending LSAC my transcript next Monday. I already sent CLS a transcript directly. If LSAC doesn't process my grades until after decisions are made, will CLS's personal copy of my transcript change my index?

Go to LSP, type in your info, and look for the number that comes in the first column. It should be in the 4.0-4.6 range.

Is there any info on how application submission date affects admission/scholarship chances at CLS?

About financial aid - are we supposed to fill out FAFSA now even though we don't know our decisions?? The deadline is sometime in March, but I don't know if filling it out earlier = better chance at grants.

What if we're not applying for need-based aid, only merit-based?

Then it wouldn't matter. Although, I suggest everyone fill it out anyway

You need a filled FAFSA to be eligible for Federal loans I believe.

Thanks guys. I've filled out FAFSA to the best of my ability without having filed taxes yet. Did anyone else fill out the Need Access thing yet? My predicament is that I want to defer for a year to do a fellowship and I'm not sure if I should fill this out now or next year...

You have to pay for NeedAccess (once a year I think) so if you are not going this year I wouldn't pay for it. I guess if you decided to defer (and have the request granted) before the priority deadline then you won't have to do it for this year, if not you should do it anyway in case somehow you decide to attend anyway because filling it out late will delay your aid package (loans included). You have to go back to FAFSA once you file your taxes to update to actual numbers. Schools are probably going to ask you for copies of your tax return for verification and you want to make sure the forms match the updated FAFSA.

Wait I filled out the FAFSA but I didn't have to pay for anything. What's NeedAccess?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
