Does anyone know if all the rejection e-mails hit at one or do they typically filter in throughout the day?

Lol well I mention two days ago that the first wave of rejections last year was 2/1 so it's based on their usual timinghellohalo wrote:Do you work in NYU admission?!daaaaamnjulianna wrote:Are we thinking first wave of rejections will be this week?

Well, in all this, I realize I forgot to say the one thing you ought to have heard before our self-centered questions: sorry about the ding. What other options are you working with right now?88234 wrote:NVM literally updated while I was freaking ya'll out. Sorry about that!88234 wrote:1/12, I think?wildquest8200 wrote:Man, oh man. UCLA, GULC, UTA, Vandy, WashU, still waiting on a few, and a few waitlists higher up. About what I'd expect with my numbers. Good luck to all here!cyclawps wrote:Well, in all this, I realize I forgot to say the one thing you ought to have heard before our self-centered questions: sorry about the ding. I wouldn't say no hope...but it's dwindling.kiwi50 wrote:If we haven't heard a thing from NYU yet, is there now no hope for one of their named scholarships? I applied for the RTK.
See below:
kkdk wrote:jonofalltrades wrote:I had an informational interview with an ad com member there in September and she confirmed what kkdk had said earlier in this thread: if you're admitted late there is basically zero chance you'll be considered for RTK. The ad com person said "if you're not admitted by March" there's no hope. I did not clarify as to whether it means "before March 1" or "before March 31", but I'm guessing the former.tinycatfriend wrote:If you are admitted late (like around March) is there a chance at an RTK scholarship?
TITCR. It isn't ideal, I'll admit. But given how the general cycle plays out, we need to know who our interviewees are at least a couple of weeks before the interviews, so we can handle logistics effectively/efficiently. We also have to get interview panels ready (you interview with about 6 people at a time, and many are alums, professors, scholarship sponsors with tight schedules (Part of my scholarship is funded by Sullivan and Cromwell and the partner there insists on interviewing). So accommodating all of these things, not to mention the fact that so late in the cycle, Root offerees are making decisions between RTK and Rubies, RTK and Yale, RTK and Darrow, etc. I know at least one offeree that decided between the Root and not going to law school that year, too (they picked the latter, btw, and are now at Harvard) Taking all of that into account, we just have to pick a date after which we don't consider applicants.

Has anybody who also applied to a named scholarship been accepted yet?

No. Guys, if you just looked through this thread, you would have answers to these questions! Named scholarship interview requests go out in Feb/March. You have to be accepted before you can be requested to interview. You will not hear about the interview or a decision about the scholarship with your acceptance to NYU generally. This info is also found on NYU's website.anrf1225 wrote:Accepted without mention of the named scholarshipStephylynette wrote:Has anybody who also applied to a named scholarship been accepted yet?, does that mean I'm out?
I know I'm being a little harsh, but I sometimes wonder why someone doesn't go back and attempt to find the answer in the thread before asking it. We've covered almost everything here. There is also a search function.
