I got a call from a 434 number this afternoon. I had my interview yesterday and was told that I'm accepted. Anyone who's already been admitted have any ideas what this phone call could mean?

I was in the same boat. Dean Faulk got to see me casually have a happiness overload/absolute breakdown over skype... Kinda awkward but whatevs, it was my first offer of admission and my number 1.

You could just run a quick Google search on the number to see if it comes up on a school website or something.

So I got an email from the financial aid director asking for times to Skype to "discuss" my application. Is this separate from an interview? What would an interview request email look like?

My only other thought is that it could have something to do with in-state tuition.

I'd be ready for an interview, but based on what people have said about their interviewers here I don't know of anyone who interviewed with person you are referring to. Maybe they just needed more people to help?

Yeah, I'm going to prepare for an interview. I googled her, and I found an article on UVA's website saying she also conducts interviews for admissions.

Went complete/UR on 12/11. I've been browsing the spreadsheet a little and it seems like interviews more often than not lead to acceptances. If so that's very exciting.

It's not something they ask for, you can just submit it as an additional essay! It's just to show them that you really are serious about UVA, especially if your numbers are potentially on the fence or YP.
