Since I've seen a lot of questions about this lately, here is my best understanding of the status checker journey for people who are admitted:

• Application Received
• Application Complete (you get an email for this)
• Application Under Review (UR 1) <- indicates first committee review of your file
• (OPTIONAL) Application Under Review (UR 1.5) <- I did not receive this step, but I believe some people did
• Invited for Interview
• Application Under Review (UR 2) <- generally immediately after your interview, indicates that the interview is done
• Application Under Review (UR 3) <- indicates second committee review of your file
• Application Under Review (UR 4) <- most (all?) people get this in the days leading up to decisions being released. Both waves of decisions this year have been on Tuesday; UR4s have started on Friday and continued on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday. As far as I know, getting UR 4 happens whether you're getting admitted, WL'd, or dinged in the wave.

Do we have an estimate of how many people they invite to interview?

+1 on the question, but also what are your stats? I have essentially the same applied and complete dates but haven't gone UR yet.

When was the last day for signups? It seems that the next round will include up to the friday of the week before.

I don't remember to be honest. This week definitely had slots but I can't remember if the following did.

Mine changed to " Interview Scheduled“ today.

Ah, maybe I missed the change from "Interview Requested" to "Interview Scheduled."

What's the deal with Chicago's WL asking you to notify other schools of your intent to remain on their wait list? That's the first I have heard of that.

For those who interviewed, did you feel like you were reiterating a large portion of your personal statement in your answer? I felt that way.. while genuine, I fear I came across one-dimensional...

I applied back in January and I've been under review for about a month now. My numbers are not even close to being reasonable for UChicago, and I never expected to get in, so does anyone know why it's taking so long to get what I'm guessing will be a rejection?

You're asking why you haven't been rejected yet? Maybe they don't want to seem so obviously numbers slanted and want to try and give every applicant a reasonable shot? I applied back in December and only did my interview a few weeks ago.

I don't think the interviewer reviews your PS before the interview. As long as you presented yourself well and they gave you a good writeup on the interview, I don't think the information overlap will hurt you.

I was worrying about this too, but I received an email telling me my app went complete so you should probably receive one soon as well.

Had my interview about an hour ago. I thought it went REALLY well. It was very professional, not too rushed. I really enjoyed some of the questions I got, such as, "what would you do, career-wise, if you were not going to law school?" and "what was an academic experience that was important for you?"

I'm thinking two weeks at the earliest. Some have had a quick turnaround tho.
