True or false? After going complete, the status checker updates every day.

Hey friends - advice needed.
I'm a URM who was waitlisted last week with a 3.4/164. I just got my Feb. results back and I received a 168.
Any thought on if this will be enough to get me off the waitlist?

It certainly will be something you should mention in a LOCI. As to if it will get you off the wait list, I do not know, but it certainly helps!

A URM 168/3.4 has a decent shot at getting in at UMich. So, using that logic, it should be a huge help. However, they have already planned their class without a seat for you. So, who knows what kind of people (#s, URMs, etc?) they will need off the waitlist this year.
It puts you in a strong position, but not even an adcomm at UMich could give you a great idea right now if that will get you off. Not until they see their class after deposit deadline.

Three. You know, like the three schools at which I'm waitlisted.cron1834 wrote:How many threads are you going to post this in?dust_shaker wrote:Hey friends - advice needed.

waitlist acceptance depends on how many people offered matriculate and how many of each quota they need. so theres no way anyone is gonna be able to answer any of your three questionsdust_shaker wrote:Three. No doubt. Just start a thread in chances or admissions instead of spamming the applicant threads.lakers180 wrote:waitlist acceptance depends on how many people offered matriculate and how many of each quota they need. so theres no way anyone is gonna be able to answer any of your three questionsdust_shaker wrote:Three. My application was incomplete this morning but had gone complete when I checked it half an hour ago. It seems like they work on weekends. If only Chicago and Cornell sped things up like this.

If the wait lists don't come thru and they're likely acceptances on mylsn, then you should consider waiting to reapply next cycle.dust_shaker wrote:Hey friends - advice needed.

Re: Michigan Applicants C/O 2017 (Applicants 2013-2014)
I don't think that's necessarily true - I've spoken to law school professionals that have told me an updated score would make them look at an app right away as opposed to after deadlines, which leads me to believe that it's a fair question.
I didn't mean to screw up the vibe of the thread, just came looking for advice and support- what the purpose of this entire site is supposed to be about.
But maybe you're right, I'll now withdraw back into my lurker cave with a new understanding of why I'm not a regular poster.

Hah. Seriously though, they're super slow. Harvard and Chicago can afford to be late because people will wait for them. But not everyone will wait for Cornell (although I might).cron1834 wrote:Cornell isdazedandconfused13 wrote:My application was incomplete this morning but had gone complete when I checked it half an hour ago. I picture one adcomm person riding to work on a dogsled, once a week, and then returning home to sip hot cocoa. Probably unfair, but that's my mental image. Of the whole office.

Hello TLS. I wanted to announce that yes, I'm still at Complete.
(That and I don't want to see this thread fall to the second page!)

Hey guys.
Anybody else out there who is still incomplete?! App was sent in late Jan, didn't get my status checker till late Feb and it's still incomplete, although the date has been updated basically every day. Any thoughts as to what that means?

The Michigan status checker updates one time every day at around 6am. It's helpful, but tends to make people obsessive. HTH!dehesse wrote:Hey guys.

Good to know - thanks! Trying not to be obsessive but would really appreciate it if my app could just be complete...feeling less and less optimistic every daysamoby wrote:The Michigan status checker updates one time every day at around 6am. I wouldn't worry too much. From what I've seen, there's been a lot of variability in timing with apps and not a lot of reason to it!dehesse wrote:Good to know - thanks! I started at a new job/internship a few weeks ago and have been complete for about a week. Would it be ok to send an updated resume or should I just leave it alone?

I would definitely send it if you think it will cast you in a positive light.BenjarvusGreenEllis wrote:I started at a new job/internship a few weeks ago and have been complete for about a week. Would it be ok to send an updated resume or should I just leave it alone?

Eh. Softs are tiebrakers. Unless you think it drastically changes your application, I would save it for a LOCI.dazedandconfused13 wrote:I would definitely send it if you think it will cast you in a positive light.BenjarvusGreenEllis wrote:I started at a new job/internship a few weeks ago and have been complete for about a week.
