I figure lowest would be $10/hour, 20 hours/week. $800/month. Highest could be $15/20/hour and 40 hours/week, so 2400/month. I figure H won't take me so I would at least have a leg up on being close to B and being able to get housing nailed down early. It's just that tiny chance that I could, and then moving cross-country again....

It seems like you are more than likely to attend school in CA barring a Harvard acceptance. Like Worm said, if you get H, then it won't matter. If not, you are closer to B or other schools you will realistically attend.
Also what Worm said, you should probably get some "me" (relaxation, family, fun) time in before LS.

If you move back and stay in CT this will be a very smart move. If you get into H, you wont care. Also, you should try and be in a good environment before you start the LS grind. You'll appreciate the few months you got to save a few dollars and be near loved ones.
my .02
I keep telling my parents that I could very well hear nothing but radio silence from H until June. Right? It looks like people last year got JS/KB1s in June AND July and then 24-hour turnarounds for JS/KB2. It just seems silly to wait it out down here and by miserable for a big "IF," and if by some miracle H takes me, then I will happily pack my bags and just take the little I have with me and get a furnished apartment or something there.
Also from what I can tell on here, even CCN would be foolish over B for Cali biglaw. I just want to make sure I'm making the right choice.

Plan for the worst (going to UCB at sticker), but hope for the best (a late acceptance from Harvard). Do not plan your life around distant hopes, because
most of the time they don't ever turn into anything (only a few people ever win the lottery but lots play as though they had a chance). I'm sure you won't mind dishing out a little extra money to go to one of the most prestigious schools in the nation if an offer does happen to come your way.

Hah, that's what I figure. Trying to keep my parents out of the $/debt situation, they've supported me so much and I feel bad enough having them pay to move me back to CA.
Debt makes me so nervous, so UCB at sticker is a scary prospect. Praying to the scholarship gods the matching scholarship thing will work out, or I get money from somewhere that will lessen the debt load for me.

Thanks guys! Looks like I have a big move ahead of me in early March then.

Haha yeah I hear you on the whole debt thing. I know we've discussed this before, but
here is a table that shows the various placement rates of all the schools for last years class as well as what region they went to (it uses the same data that LST pulls from).
Bless you and your data mining. Again, so irrelevant in this thread and I apologize, will delete.
Columbia and NYU still place a LOT of people in CA, but does it make sense to go there if I only want to be in CA? Networking and interviewing seem like it would be a lot more difficult to do on the other side of the country.

~1/3th the class will be filled after Feb from applicants applying before Jan1st if LSN is an accurate depiction.

I'm interested to see if H will keep their giant class size or keep their medians. I feel like they can't do both this cycle.

I don't think that Harvard will have a hard time maintaining their medians or classes size simply because, well, it is Harvard. They pass up a lot of good candidates every year (not everyone who receives a JS1 gets a JS2, for example); if they were to accept more of these people, they would be able to keep up both their large class size and the high-standard numbers that accompany it.
But isn't this the lowest # of applicants in a long time? Those JS1s haven't been outright rejected, so while they may be in limbo, it seems like H could be holding them until they have a more complete picture with the Dec test takers. They could be going OH SH- in a momth or so when they see the whole pool.
We just keep hearing about the really high-scoring LSAT takers diminishing and/or not applying, and T3/T6 has a lot of seats (H and NYU).
This also brings me back to the question I always ponder, which is where are all the other LS applicants and why aren't they on TLS.

Here's to hoping they disregard softs in an attempt to latch onto their medians and revenue.

Some one mentioned that it was about 70%. 844 (approx acceptances)/1250 (interviewees)

How many total apps is the 1250 number based on? 7000, 1250 invited to interview?

Well last year there were 5,438 apps. Given the data we have for this cycle (LSATs administered, total number of applicants so far), it would be unlikely that the number of apps increased.

H will keep their class size due to the structural costs they have that aren't flexible.
