Re: SMU 2011
Just a thought-
Have many/any students been "waitlisted"? I've heard of many people being "held for further review," but can't recall seeing many/any people being waitlisted; this could probably be easily accomplished by scrolling through this thread, but I'm too lazy. If I'm right, then a LOCI may be a good idea.

I'll be there on the 19th. You'll recognize me as the dork with her mom. I know, I know, I'm a grown up 24 year old, but I've lived away from home for 4 years, and she's been a big help in getting me back. Also the love of free dinner is hereditary.Scorch wrote:I'll be attending the evening ASD on the 19th. Anyone else? If so, PM me and we can arrange to grab a beer or three after the formalities. It would be nice to meet some classmates.
Kalvano, I know I owe you at least one.

Is the dinner casual, or should we get a little classy? For those DFWers, bear in mind we're from Mesquite, so fancy is (was?) Steak & Ale. Haha. Still sad they closed most of those down.

Called admissions, no-one answered. I left a message, I likely sounded like a blubbering idiot.

To be fair, they just reactivated my account from when I was evacuated during Katrina. I even have my same ID number. Probably shouldn't try to use my old ID, though, since 24 year old me and 18 year old me are a wee bit different looking. I'm sure y'all will get yours soon!

I know after I was held, I called and they said that an LOCI "couldn't hurt", so I think you should be fine to go ahead and send one without there being a decision rendered. If you already sent one after being held, though, another would seem a little redundant to me until after another decision is made.thewarflamingo wrote:Let us know how it goes because I have the exact same feelings as you about waiting for SMU and it's driving me crazy that I haven't heard yet.OklahomasOK wrote:I'm calling admissions tomorrow, I'm pretty set on SMU but I'm getting turned off every day I don't hear a peep from them. I have been complete since 12/21.
I have heard nothing.
Uh, does this mean they are planning a big surprise party for me?
That sure is nice of them.

Goff's has OK burgers and great onion rings. Down Hillcrest, a little past Jimmy Johns.
Peggy Sue's has pretty decent BBQ. Across from the parking garage.
Bandito's has decent Tex-Mex. Down from Peggy Sue's in Snider Plaza.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
