I'm not sure if this means anything. Has anyone gotten the same response? Need insight..

Re: BU! woot.
hi everyone,
i am going to nyu's admitted students days in two weeks and was hoping to also check out boston while i'm in the area, but i still haven't heard back from them (i went complete on 1/25). is it in bad form to contact them on monday asking about the status of my application? i just would really prefer to know where i stand before spending the money and time on a train ticket. thanks for any advice! : )

Asd today. Awesome. Withdrawing everywhere else. Great faculty, staff, and the other students were all awesome.

I've had the Voker v. Murray YMCA song stuck in my head all day.Cupidity wrote:Asd today. Awesome. Withdrawing everywhere else. Great faculty, staff, and the other students were all awesome.
Amazing faculty. I didnt appreciate the difference the quality of faculty could make until today. I'm still debating, but BU left a very favorable impression today.
However, the facilities are a huge draw back. The only practical application I feel aesthetics should have would be for study space/law library, which indeed suffers from the overall quality of facility. Its beyond me why they dont renovate one floor of the tower into a nice library setting. On the other hand, the views are tremendous. Boston skyline in every classroom? Awesome.
A note on the above, the undergraduate library is right next door to the law building. I visited for a moment and it seemed like a decent study space should the above comment be an overwhelming concern.
BU is the favorite at this point, although I'm still considering BC and a couple others.

I loved the tower. Perhaps it was because I had just been to fordham, but I thought it had a lot of charm--the views were amazing, the facilities were certainly functional. The overall campus was beautiful and the city was wonderful. I seriously think what made it for me was all the people. I'm withdrawing my apps everywhere but where I have $$$, and those I'm only keeping to try and leverage BU. My cycle is done.

Quick question:
Does anyone know how stable BU's tuition is? Would it hover at around 38k or so?

Are acceptances always through phone calls? Have they ever sent a snail-mail acceptance w/o phone call/e-mail?

Based on this thread, there was at least one email/no phone call acceptance.prelaw10 wrote:Are acceptances always through phone calls? Have they ever sent a snail-mail acceptance w/o phone call/e-mail?

Also, if anyone has any questions about the school I'd be happy to answer. I know I was only there for a few hours--but you know, I'd be glad to help if I can.

I guess I'm just curious to know if there was anything in particular that really won you over at ASD. I had already signed up for BC's when I heard from BU - so I went to BC Friday instead. Went to the law building Saturday (of course I realize that it wasn't the greatest tour I could have given myself given how much was closed), and given their similarities in academics, I was much more impressed with BC. I just didn't get the feeling that I would thrive at BU, and couldn't really imagine spending 3 years there. Personal opinion of course, but I was just curious as to why ASD seemed to completely swing you in BU's favor. Thanks!Cupidity wrote:Also, if anyone has any questions about the school I'd be happy to answer. I know I was only there for a few hours--but you know, I'd be glad to help if I can.

So, got back from Fordham's ASD to find in my snail mail, a wait list letter from BU. Not happy!!!

I got waitlisted via letter - do you think it matters whether it was by e-mail or letter? Its my top choice and I don't think I communicated that well enough in my LOCI. 166/3.56 with a good amount of WE - is there anything else I can do besides send them my grades and an updated resume?

Reiterate they're your top choice, why they are your top choice & why you're a good fit. If you'd drop all other offers, tell them you'd attend given the opportunity. Update anything new in the LOCI. You should be gold! Keep us informed. Good Luck!berkeleygrad09 wrote:I got waitlisted via letter - do you think it matters whether it was by e-mail or letter? Re: BU! woot.
thanks for the advice. i applied around thanksgiving so i guess that was kinda late. my other options are limited so i might just have to wait out this cycle and apply super early next cycle - I only applied to 9 schools. I'm on Reserve at Columbia (I have no idea how that happened) but i know that's not likely to happen
