Re: NYU c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015)
Just got a missed call from a 212-998-xxxx number ...no voicemail left. I googled and this is an NYU Law #. Am I being too optimistic in being borderline jumping for joy ...I can't think they'd call w bad news. But no voicemail ...

I'm still in UR1 after applying in November. Is this basically tantamount to being waitlisted? Wouldn't they have done something by now if they had strong feelings in one way or the other?

I was at an ASW in LA this weekend where one of the admits called NYU to check on their application and it had literally been lost. At first I thought he was joking because it's just taking so long to hear back, but turns out he wasn't. He even had a status checker log in.

The office actually told him that they'd lost his application?mec896 wrote:I was at an ASW in LA this weekend where one of the admits called NYU to check on their application and it had literally been lost. How does that even happen? And should we all call to make sure ours are at least in a pile somewhere, not lost to be found 14 years later when they're redecorating the office?

I checked out the 2017 thread to see what us DLSnevers (and especially the UR2014 crowd) had in store..
This weekish, there were 2 waves (or a constant stream) of DLSs on status checkers that were mostly WLs with a ding or two, and I think the first reported admit from WL was May 8.
Some reported two DLS dates

Now I'm getting super paranoid as well. At what point do we all agree on deciding to make some calls to make sure our files are still around?

Considering that everything is electronic, how does an office lose an applicant? I know approximately nothing about technology.

Called the Office of Admissions today- they suggested asking other schools to postpone their scholarship deadlines, so NYU could make their decisions "sometime before the end of April." Are they kidding??
