Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I was placed on reserve last week and I am planning to send a short email response saying I would like stay in the reserve group and then send a more formal LOCI later this week. For others that have written an email response, who have you addressed it to? My reserve email was signed "Cornell Law School Admissions" so is this who the email should be addressed to as well?

Are you sure you don't want to at least try? Cornell's been throwing around $$$ this cycle, so there's still a chance you could snag up to $120K. Plus after combing through Cornell's "taking questions" thread this week, I keep hearing that it's actually got decent CA placement (at least on par with Michigan), including a California Club to promote CA networking and an entire job fair in LA just for Cornell students. Just my opinion, but I'd think $$$ at Cornell should at least be a tempting option for a debt-averse Californian. Of course, this is assuming Berkeley is still at sticker.twinkletoes16 wrote::-/ might withdraw. If I wasn't accepted to Berkeley already I might.

Lol, knew someone would call me out on that. To clarify: almost everyone who's been invited to apply for the Dean's Scholarship and fallen short has gotten a $120K consolation prize; the others have gotten $90K (that I've seen). Twinkle is above the gpa median and the LSAT 75th so I'm just guessing there's a chance they'd offer her that much even though it may be too late for her to apply for the dean's.shntn wrote:O RLY?Lavitz wrote:Cornell's been throwing around $$$ this cycle.twinkletoes16 wrote::-/ might withdraw. Figures. Cornell is next on my withdrawal list, I think. I didn't even get an invitation, and they'd have to really make a pretty sizable offer to compete with NYU's offer at this point.Lavitz wrote:Lol, knew someone would call me out on that. Any info on potential aid for people who didn't get the Dean's invite?

This is what I'm wondering about the most. A decent scholarship at Cornell could win me away from NYU, but as December test-taker I think I screwed myself. I haven't seen anyone besides Dean's invites get significant money yet. Was there a deadline by which Dean's scholarships had to accept or turn down? Maybe after that they will start doling out monz to the rest of us.Lavitz wrote:even though it may be too late for her to apply for the dean's.

This. I've heard that they can occasionally make reasonable offers to non-invited folks, but not getting an invitation seems to be a pretty bad thing as far as I can see. I'll let it play out, but I'm not expecting much.Crowing wrote:Any info on potential aid for people who didn't get the Dean's invite?

This would mean that December test-takers are essentially left out in the cold, but maybe that's our lot in life. Blerg.shntn wrote:This. Re: Cornell c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
We had to submit the essay by February 10th, although I'm not sure if they'll consider people accepted after that and give them a separate deadline. Then to accept the offer, we have to send in a $300 deposit by April 1st. So it may be after that, but hopefully we'll see some non-dean's $$ come out before then.ph5354a wrote:This is what I'm wondering about the most. I was a June test taker and one of the first people admitted this cycle, yet nada. So yeah, blerg.ph5354a wrote:This would mean that December test-takers are essentially left out in the cold, but maybe that's our lot in life. Blerg.shntn wrote:This. And I know nothing about invitations or when they stop coming out, so I dunno about the December thing.

I am in the interesting position of currently not having a single cent of aid from any school in the middle of Feb after submitting across the board in September. This is fun.

They really drag this whole thing out, don't they? I feel like a dick for not hurrying up and withdrawing some apps to help out the waitlisted folks, but the ball is in the schools' courts at this point and they're taking for-bleeding-ever.Lavitz wrote:Then to accept the offer, we have to send in a $300 deposit by April 1st. All the schools seem to be moving at a glacial pace this year. Don't worry, Crowing, you won't be paying for school.dproduct wrote:shntn wrote:Crowing wrote:I am in the interesting position of currently not having a single cent of aid from any school in the middle of Feb after submitting across the board in September.
