I'm not much of a drinker and, for the most part, I hate hard alcohol as I think it tastes like ass. I love beer and wine, but nothing else. I have, however, found out that brandy is distilled wine, and it is tradionally enjoyed in a glass called a snifter, so I'm eager to head to the store tonight and get me some brandy and a few snifters. Because, how cool does "snifter" sound?Justathought wrote:That last sentence was rather crass. I'm glad you corrected that hooligan, old chap.

What you mean to say, in case an adcom is reading this, is that you prefer Diesels (Bud in a can) drank while still on the stringer.pballer wrote:I prefer single-malt scotch, but to each his ownJustathought wrote:That last sentence was rather crass. I'm glad you corrected that hooligan, old chap.

What does it mean if you haven't changed in 4 months, and are above that 168 wall everyone talks about? Is there a chance my app was lost?

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
It means that there is no order to the chaos whatsoever. I feel like that has been firmly established across the board (except at Stanford and Chicago). If you haven't changed in four months, a calm phone call to the admissions office is entirely warranted. Just say that your status hasn't been updated in four months and that with seat deposits coming up, you just want to make sure that your application is still in consideration, et cetera.flexityflex86 wrote:What does it mean if you haven't changed in 4 months, and are above that 168 wall everyone talks about? Has WUSTL said something to the effect of "all regular decisions will be made by x" ? I owe a seat deposit to another school in two weeks and haven't heard anything from WUSTL (UR 9/29!).

Sorry, I meant complete 9/29, IR 3/3. Still a really long time to wait! Sadly I owe a seat deposit 4/1 to another school, yikes!

Good to know the first deposit is refundable, makes my life a little easier knowing I don't have to decide/risk wasting money in the next couple weeks.

Copy and paste from the WUSTL web site. Title above it reads something along the lines of, "2010-2011 Time Line."JenDarby wrote:Info posted above states it is, assuming that's accurate.kk19131 wrote:Wait... it is?JenDarby wrote:Good to know the first deposit is refundable, makes my life a little easier knowing I don't have to decide/risk wasting money in the next couple weeks.

These people at Wash U seem to run a pretty tight ship. But god damn it, why do they have to be located so far from the coasts and place so poorly on the coasts!Justathought wrote:Copy and paste from the WUSTL web site. Put the deposit down on the other school on March 31. This is a no-brainer. Besides, WUSTL won't let you know how much scholly you'll get until a couple weeks afterward, if the current trend continues. Don't be phased by their attempts at WUSTLin' you.

No action since being put IR 3/11 then 3/14, but seeing this thread at the top gives me hope.

Do you think the change in IR dates are a good thing or a bad thing? I went into review two weeks ago and my IR dates have not changed since.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
I have no idea. I imagine that a massive wave of waitlists and rejections will have to go out very soon. I updated from in 2/22 to 3/8 and I'm guessing that I will be waitlisted as that has been the general trend in my cycle.

My numbers are terrible and I am an autoding, and haven't heard back yet either, so I would have to agree with the massive WL (though maybe not massive in the scale of W & M) and rejections are coming.

Just out of curiosity, what is your opinion of autoding? Below both 25s?Spookyghost wrote:My numbers are terrible and I am an autoding, and haven't heard back yet either, so I would have to agree with the massive WL (though maybe not massive in the scale of W & M) and rejections are coming.

Well, if the 25 %ile is still 161 for LSAT, I actually am above that, but .3 under the 25th for GPA is probably what's gonna do it.snichols16 wrote:Just out of curiosity, what is your opinion of autoding? Everywhere is a reach when your LSAT isn't stellar and your GPA is piss poor.
