Sweet deal Knock, congrats!
Thanks everyone!
And if anyone is curious, I think I was accepted around 11/22, and just got the letter today, so it might take longer than two weeks for some people. Best of luck to everyone!

With regard to money, read this from Dean Z's interview with AdmissionsDean.com:
"...about a week after the offer letter goes out, I go back and make any merit aid decision with respect to that applicant."

$67,500 scholly! Just in case anyone's wondering, "once we have awarded a merit scholarship, it is not our practice to 'compete' with awards from other schools. . . . we do not increase merit awards once they are made"
Anyone else think this will hurt Michigan's yield rate?

Congrats! And congrats to Knock, too. I finally made it home to find a letter with a $54k scholarship. (splitter, admitted 12/11)

They said this last year and our yield rate was higher than anticipated causing over-enrollment. They did go back and change one or two people that I know of but its definitely rare.

There's only one documented case from the 09-10 cycle on LSN:

"4/27 - Well, negotiating definitely works. Michigan matched Berkeley['s $90,000]"

So it seems I missed out on the round of acceptances that seems to have included everyone else who applied around when I did (10/20). I am therefore planning on writing a LOCI. Anyone have any suggestions? Should I direct it to a specific person or just to University of Michigan Law School Admissions?

I'm of the impression that you don't need to send in LOCI's until you have been waitlisted.

I'm also complete since October (10/26) and have no decision yet. 52/59 acceptances for October applicants came in November or December, so odds are you and I are both probably getting waitlisted at best :

(Thanks Ducaltis for summarizing the LSN data!)
While it's a bit premature to SEND the LOCI now, there's nothing wrong with drafting it and having it ready to send as soon as you get an official decision. If Michigan is one of your top choices, I'd say start preparing for a waitlist. Get the LOCI (and Why Michigan if you didn't already write one) ready to send, update fall grades if you have them, find another LOR, etc. Good luck!

All of you are so on the ball with early apps. Is anyone else but me still waiting for a status checker?

Submitted mine Saturday. Got a nice email from Dean Z yesterday:
"er doctor, I'm so pleased you're applying! The Word format is great. I'll send this along to the faculty committee, and we'll be in touch as soon as possible.
Best regards--
scz"

I submitted my application on 12/13 and received an acknowledgement on 12/17, but I'm still waiting for the status checker... I guess it really hasn't been 3 weeks yet (it feels like it has been longer), so hopefully it'll come soon.

We are date twins.
I am not looking forward to the holiday break adding an extra week or so to the wait...

So does being able to log into the admitted students site definitely mean an acceptance?
