Well it puts you with about a 4.2 index. The results so far from the ED pool have not been good for people with a 4.2 (at the top of my head I think everyone but one or so got deferred). But you really never know because ad comms can be unpredictable despite what most people say.CosmoLaw wrote:168 and 3.96

One of my roommates last year got into Columbia, and her admit book was GORGEOUS!!!dulcatis wrote:
That could be the big package, though. Some of the LSN people referred to a letter and a package. SO WE'LL SEE.
I reallly hope we don't have to hold out until FebruaryWill lose my mindddd.
If I don't get in I might consider asking if I can borrow hers for a day so I can at least flip through it and pretend.

It's also on your LSDAS report but rounded to 1 decimal.

Re: Columbia 2011!
I think there's a chart somewhere that shows acceptances compared to index, and it basically showed that 4.2 was slim chances, 4.3 was 50/50, and 4.4+ is in and scholarship territory. Something like that, anyone have that graph?Peameal wrote:I'm slightly below most of you...I can't decide whether to feel cautiously optimistic or increasingly pessimistic at this new bit of information.annie2010 wrote:Wellllllll I have absolutely no authority but I think you have a shot! Word, thank god for rounding, I make the all-important jump between the 2 and the 3 as my first number after the decimal...Peameal wrote:I'm slightly below most of you...I can't decide whether to feel cautiously optimistic or increasingly pessimistic at this new bit of information.annie2010 wrote:Wellllllll I have absolutely no authority but I think you have a shot! Re: Columbia 2011!
I dont know where the graph is but I definitely remember this (edit: that 4.3 is 50/50 and 4.4 and above is solid) and the ED cycle so far confirms this.
Some ED data from this cycle can be found here: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key ... 5boF#gid=0 although I dont know when it was last updated.
And for the 4.3 people, I think that other factors do come into play... dare I say softs/personal statement? Because there is no other way to explain why people with the exact same numbers and a 4.3 index had different outcomes.

AMEN. Mine jumps from a 3 to a 4, by the slimmest of margins.LinzerTorte wrote:Word, thank god for rounding, I make the all-important jump between the 2 and the 3 as my first number after the decimal...Peameal wrote:I'm slightly below most of you...I can't decide whether to feel cautiously optimistic or increasingly pessimistic at this new bit of information.annie2010 wrote:Wellllllll I have absolutely no authority but I think you have a shot! Well if they don't average LSAT scores I am a 4.415, if they do I drop down to a 4.235 (9 point jump in LSAT). I'm a semi-splitter who applied last week so I bet my results will be different from others with a similar index, but here's hoping that they don't average!

Re: Columbia 2011!
Indexes are scary. I have/had a 4.522 b/c I'm a splitter. I got deferred then wait listed last year.
Fingers crossed for better luck this time. To be fair, I didn't have like any EC's.
