Well it puts you with about a 4.2 index. The results so far from the ED pool have not been good for people with a 4.2 (at the top of my head I think everyone but one or so got deferred). But you really never know because ad comms can be unpredictable despite what most people say.

One of my roommates last year got into Columbia, and her admit book was GORGEOUS!!!

If I don't get in I might consider asking if I can borrow hers for a day so I can at least flip through it and pretend.

I think there's a chart somewhere that shows acceptances compared to index, and it basically showed that 4.2 was slim chances, 4.3 was 50/50, and 4.4+ is in and scholarship territory. Something like that, anyone have that graph?

I dont know where the graph is but I definitely remember this (edit: that 4.3 is 50/50 and 4.4 and above is solid) and the ED cycle so far confirms this.

And for the 4.3 people, I think that other factors do come into play... dare I say softs/personal statement? Because there is no other way to explain why people with the exact same numbers and a 4.3 index had different outcomes.

Well if they don't average LSAT scores I am a 4.415, if they do I drop down to a 4.235 (9 point jump in LSAT). I'm a semi-splitter who applied last week so I bet my results will be different from others with a similar index, but here's hoping that they don't average!

Indexes are scary. I have/had a 4.522 b/c I'm a splitter. I got deferred then wait listed last year.

Fingers crossed for better luck this time. To be fair, I didn't have like any EC's.
