I did without a car when I worked/lived downtown, but it was difficult even without any big need to get around town (except the grocery store). If you are in the Vanderbilt area, a car would be VITAL.

I definitely disagree. I went to Vandy Undergrad so I know Nashville pretty well. I did have a car the last two years. but it isn't hard to find housing right around campus. Such as 20 and Grand or Wesley Place.
of course it is ideal to have a car but you will be able to survive for sure without one. plus the public bus goes to the mall. And with most other people having cars when you need to go food shopping you could easily get a ride.

Agree with that. I assumed they meant independently - I don't get rides from other people unless I'm bleeding lol

to those heading to bar review tonight at billiards, just be aware that you may find yourselves at lonnie's doing karaoke latenight. billiards is fun but it closes at 2 and people will likely wander off elsewhere before close. I strongly recommend the Stage if you're looking for a more nashvillian bar afterwards, though keep in mind dancing with your future classmates is strongly encouraged. also, i will be monitoring the alcohol consumption tomorrow at Colloquy's trivia blackacre since (my buddy is running it and put in a favor request), so please enjoy the high-end brews we'll be serving responsibly. also, please laugh at his bad jokes so he doesn't feel bad.

otherwise, hope your hosts all treat you right. this is by far the more entertaining admitted students' weekend for us, since finals are a month away and we'll all for the most part be out at some point.

In the Obiter Dictum I saw a small blurb about an admitted students message board, but haven't found such a thing in anything I've received from the law school. Was this something they accidentally left in there from past editions or is the school hiding this from me?

Moderately. They waitlisted me, and my numbers (4.0/158) are typically auto-reject for a non-URM. I had a fantastic interview, and I do think they read the interviewer's report carefully.

As of now the only other waitlist I'm truly considering is UVA (would be a miracle). Where does Vandy fall on your list?

I'm a native of Missouri, so WashU comes first . . . just because I hope to practice law in MO, however getting into Vandy would be a dream!

Just got my financial aid award summary in the mail. Ahh, with that scholly, Vandy's fin aid statement is A LOT less scary than Michigan's sticker shock.

I can't wait to visit Vandy in a couple of weeks. I hope that my visit there will make my decision easy one way or the other.
