Cardozo and Fordham aren't very different if you are interested in NYC.... I would go with the full ride - imagine graduating debt free!dgb87 wrote:I have the same dilemma as Clem...
Cardozo Full Ride- No strings attached (guaranteed all 3 years) plus stipend vs. 15k scholarship for Fordham.
When would you all suggest negotiating with Fordham for more money? Should I wait or go ahead and do it before they give out all of their scholarship resources?
Help please!

Re: Fordham Waiting Room
Just a quick question...I have a 3.88/164...I submitted my app in the beginning of dec but I was waiting on LSAT scores. I was also waiting on a 3rd and good recommendation as well. My 2 other recs are also good. Because of new years I was told my 3rd letter won't post on LSAC until the end of the month. My question is, do I tell fordham to not wait on the 3rd one so that my application gets reviewed much earlier? I want to do what's best for my chances to get in.
Thanks

Fordham doesn't require LORs, so I doubt they will wait at all. (Does your status checker read "complete"?) If it doubt, I'd just give the office a call - they're very nice!sjedood wrote:Just a quick question...I have a 3.88/164...I submitted my app in the beginning of dec but I was waiting on LSAT scores. I spoke with adcomms about letters of rec when I submitted my app. They said they would rather have the app earlier than have any recommendations at all. At the beginning of the cycle I was told to submit without recs and then just update my file once I got them. It worked out for me...also, I believe operasoprano has said a few times on here that they really don't put that much weight on recommendations, that with Fordham it's all about getting it in early!

Then you should be good! ITA with everything dgb said, as well - this is exactly what I was told. Re: Fordham Waiting Room
$15k from Fordham is a very nice scholarship. I've occasionally seen $20k, but that seems to be the max for merit. Still, it couldn't hurt to ask.lawyerlover wrote:Cardozo and Fordham aren't very different if you are interested in NYC.... I disagree that Fordham and Cardozo are the same for NYC, but a guaranteed full ride from Cardozo would have been tempting. TCR depends on your goals. If you are PI bound this could make sense. If you want to work for a firm, though, you really should go to Fordham, unless you have T14 acceptances. You really ought to visit both schools, and talk to students. I'm friends with a Cardozo 1L who likes her school, though nobody really feels about their school the way I feel about Fordham, with the possible exception of Observationalist and his long abiding love for Vandy.
Also, Nygrrrl is right. She needs to hurry up and get in!

I wonder if those files that have been reviewed and put on hold will just be put to the side until april.
I could then stop obsessively checking my status online. Sigh. I'm trying to decide whether waiting for lsat scores is worse than this or not. Jury is still out.

*Sigh* I have literally given up hope on my home school here. I don't think they are happy with me and I'm therefore unhappy to return there in a few weeks without an admit. Have been complete since 12/1.

Can't help but me discouraged. There have been a number of students from my year admitted. Maybe they have a quota for what they take from their own school and it has already been filled. Also the strange WL have me worried. Still complete 11/16. Did get a 32k/year offer from Cardozo, tempting to go to a good school in the city with little debt (comparatively) but Fordham is by far still my #1 choice and I'll be more than happy paying sticker to go. Hoping for good news soon..and to join some of you in the 2013/2014 Fordham threadBoro88 wrote:*Sigh* I have literally given up hope on my home school here. Hahahahahah! YEAH! I'm in!
I was literally just staring at LSN/TLS Fordham sections and saying to my SO "Yeah, I should be hearing back from them pretty soon" when I checked my status checker for the third time today. BINGO.

I've been complete since 11/16 and haven't heard a word. BREATHE. I think we're all so accustomed to instant gratification that it's tough to remember that things like this take time. better to get GOOD news late than bad news early! There are lots of people with better numbers than mine that have already been rejected (complete after me too), so I am just thankful I was not one of them. are you pt? I keep forgetting.
