Ok so I need to pose a new theory. I'm not sure if this has been postulated yet, but I think that Cornell has split all EA applicants into two halves: those who were complete by the first week in November, maybe 11/2, and those who were complete after. We have seen the two decisions of those applicants. Deferrals and rejections. The next batch will be acceptances for the rest who have been complete in the first half and haven't heard yet. Then we will see the same happen for the rest of us who were complete after 11/2. Deferrals, rejections, then acceptances. Does this make sense? Please someone debunk this because I feel my blood pressure rising as I type. The only thing that would have this not make sense is if someone has been deferred or rejected that was complete within the second week of November. According to prior posts, that hasn't happened yet. Insight?

I am rejecting your theory on the grounds that I don't like it. I am EAC 11/12 and haven't heard yet, and I'm taking that to be good news, despite any evidence to the contrary.

But seriously, I hope this isn't true. Plenty of people with similar numbers to me have been deferred.

Yeah I definitely hope I'm wrong too because I was EAC on the same date.

Still 10/28 EA complete here. Feels sort of like surviving another round of cuts on a team or layoffs at a company. I never thought I'd be happy to log in see that my status is still "10/28 EA Complete".

mine took 5 business days to get here (NC).

For the people who got deferred and had their status checker updated on 12/27, I think the letter wasn't sent until 12/30, which was 6 days after they went DR. That may have been just due to the Thanksgiving holiday, though.

Not to feed the fire or anything, but if there were two sets of deferral decisions, there potentially could be two sets of rejection decisions? I'm still not convinced I should be relieved being EAC. I really should join the USS Bitter Pessimism at some point.

I think I remember seeing somebody say 12/2 yesterday as well. Maybe next round will be 12/12 and 12/14?

I did call, they wouldn't give me my decision over the phone

Ah I see! I had to call twice. I said that a few of my "friends" were receiving their decision over the phone and I was wondering if it would be possible to have the same done for me. I cant tell you how awkward it is to be told your rejected via phone call haha!

B/c it's pretty certain at this point. I have already accepted the rejection! Easier than being begged to be told "no" over the phone.
