Yeah, I don't think a Friday decision was in the cards (last week notwithstanding). I checked last year and here's the breakdown of acceptance releases:
  • Sunday:1
  • Monday:4
  • Tuesday:4 (+1 this year)
  • Wednesday:3 (+1 this year)
  • Thursday:1 (+1 this year)
  • Friday:1 (+1 this year)
  • Saturday:0
So bank more on the first half of the week, not the last.

With such a small sample size that evidence looks like random noise.

I think you just enjoy rain dancing and want an excuse to do it every day. :P

lol I'm past educated speculation and examining past trends; everyday I'm just like "TODAY IS THE DAY" and "NO WAY IT'LL BE TODAY" at the same time, then I just end up channeling my nervous energy into random physical activity such as hole-punching my sheet music or drawing on my own face with the ridiculous and useless makeup products that I somehow thought was a good idea to throw money at once upon a time

I think the Harvard adcomms are just wondering why there's so much rain in their office.

Minor point, but the one Wednesday decision day so far this cycle was exclusively a ding day. There's only been three waves of JS2s so far that we know of: Tuesday Dec 8th, Thursday Jan 14th, and Friday Jan 15th.

I was in the middle of writing my PS with my very subpar first take senior year when I stumbled upon TLS, decided to postpone LS, and here I am several years later with a JS2 and some other amazing options.

TLS saved my career. Period.
Im in the same boat. The community here really is amazing (especially all you Harvard threaders). The retake advice here is invaluable and I am definitely in a totally different position beacause of it. Hope to join all of you in JS1 land at some point and Hope the JS2 rain dances work!

Just a little research -

There have been large JS2 waves the last three cycles on the first Monday of Feb!
2014-2015: Monday Feb 2nd also a wave on 2/3 and 2/4. All of these waves started in the AM (PM typical up to that point).
2013-2014: Monday Feb 3rd also a wave on 2/7
2012-2013: Monday Feb 4th also a wave on 2/5

Looks like we might have good news tomorrow! (and this time there is evidence to support our speculation) - if not, we should definitely see some movement this week!

Bad news though - this week seems to typically be heavy on dings as well. Including the first dings of JS1 recipients.

Tflan, you're toying with my feelings! I actually have to concentrate tomorrow. Seems like I will...on refreshing this page to see if calls happen.

I bet that a lot of us will be getting good news tomorrow. Sleep well future world-movers.

ETA: looked at my post count and now I'm really hoping that I get to announce my JS2 for my 200th post, so I will probably keep pretty quiet until my dreams are either fulfilled or crushed.

Lucky for me prepping for LSAT has distracted me from obsessing over when Harvard will call.

Today I did 13 sections of LSAT tests since 1pm.

20 passages
16 games
And 202 LR questions.

Isn't that the point of going to Harvard? So that you don't have to compete in the GPA dog race to get the top jobs?

I know I shouldn't expect to hear back for a while because I just interviewed in January, but my heart wants what my heart wants.

Right there with you! I take heart in the 13-14 spreadsheets though. Almost everybody with a JS1 in mid January heard back the first Monday of February! There's still some hope...right?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
