In the same boat as you, with the same dates for completion and UR2. I wonder if they're processing URMs differently?teampeeta wrote:Did any of the high-numbers/ stuck candidates apply for named scholarships? I did and I'm waiting too. My numbers aren't insane but I am an URM with >75th LSAT and <25th GPA. Others with lower numbers have heard back and I'm still "under review"

URM here and other URMs with lower numbers have been admitted before me and I applied super early. My numbers aren't super high, though

I'm kind of a urm, not a traditional one, but I did fill out the portion on diversity for my race and SES on my app when I applied. Gpa 25-50 and lsat at 75th and have not heard back. Maybe they're treating me as a urm per their own criteria and that is why I have not heard back yet?

Re: NYU c/o 2017 Applicants Thread!
I don't know if I'd be considered a "high numbers" applicant, but I'm @ median LSAT, between 25th and median GPA... had a few numbers twins (or close to it) get admitted ahead of me despite applying at the same time / earlier. I did apply for a named scholarship which required an essay - this little theory gives me a little bit more hope than is probably justified. I'll take it though.
Also submitted a DS. Don't know if that has influence along the same lines as URM delays.

URM 25% GPA, above 75% LSAT. No named scholly, no supplemental essays (aside from generic diversity statement)

I don't think that has anything to do with being URM- there are plenty of non-URMs stuck at early review dates.sherealcool wrote:In the same boat as you, with the same dates for completion and UR2. NYU is literally driving me insane... (But I love you, NYU! Please let me in!) Granted, my numbers aren't that strong (LSAT=75 but median GPA) but people with lower numbers who applied at the same time have heard back. I did write a scholarship essay, though, so I hope there's some merit to that theory...

I also applied for a named scholarship with an essay. I have a 99% chance of not getting in with my numbers, but I'd like to think the only reason I haven't heard has to do with the essay.
Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Jk, of course

honestly theres no way. here's my theory. this one time, my brother went through one of my final papers and inserted the word "pants" every few sentences. i'm thinking maybe he did that with my ps.

Re: NYU c/o 2017 Applicants Thread!
UR2 today.
I am not a URM. Below 25 GPA, above LSAT 75 (took test twice, went up 4 points second time, both above the 175).
Submitted 1/16.
Never went complete, email that my application was received and I could check status on 1/23. Status was Under review with a date of 1/17.
Stayed in Under review but date changed to 1/27 today.
Good luck to all.

I applied for the RTK program, went complete on 1/6 and was admitted on 1/23. That said, I have a lot of connections to NYU (alum, WE, recs, etc.). I know it's super frustrating (/soul-killing) to be left wondering, but don't stress about something that hasn't happened yet.ConLawNerd91 wrote:I also applied for a named scholarship with an essay. Remember when people said NYU was a predictable school and had a quick turnaround, especially by the time January hits?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
