I know there are a ton of factors to consider but for the sake of simplicity, how much money would it take for everyone to definitely attend Cornell?

I'd probably attend at or near sticker if I get dinged from SC.

I'd want ALL THE MONEYS!

Not because I don't like Cornell (because I really do), just because I'm broke and debt-averse and that would fix everything.

Between 90-100k, with 120 from USC, it would be hard to turn down cornell

60k would make it a sure bet. But would still consider it at or around sticker.

Yeah I am excited to visit in April but with 120k from USC and a full from Minn, I would need to get something from Cornell (even if just a little). Anybody know if they view USC/Minn as peer schools, or would they be looking more at UCLA/Vandy/other T-14s?

Guessing strictly t14 schools have the potential to motivate them. Lolno to Vandy, UT, UCLA, etc. because those schools are measurably inferior.

As for what it would take me to get to Cornell: I don't know that I would be willing to spend more than 100K over the three years. I would probably take one of the aforementioned measurably inferior schools over it if only due to location. If the price where the same or better I would chose Cornell. But lolno to that actually happening.

Damn, that is what I figured. I want to attend badly but doubt I will have much leverage with them. Attending at sticker or close to it terrifies me...quite the investment.

I'm interested in Cornell because of its International Legal Studies specialization, so I tried to find out a bit more information about it on the website. It said please select your interest in the application. So, I didn't remember a location on the application for this, so I went back and re-read my entire application. I forgot there was a section that essentially said, "Please indicate why you are interested in Cornell in no more than three sentences."

I just read what I put, and now I'm mortified. Too much honesty, not enough tact.

I think I might be too scared to attend Cornell at sticker, particularly since a got a really good offer from Texas. Its tough to say. Its a really good school so I am probably more willing to take out more debt at this school compared to many others.

I'm currently WL at Berkeley, which is fiiiine. At least I'm almost a snowflake.

I probably should have applied to other schools for $ negotiation purposes, but I was strapped for cash and knew there was only 1 school I really wanted to attend. I had 'Cornell' written on my motivation board throughout the entire application process.

Haha yeah I was fortunate to get a lot of fee waivers (Cornell was the only school I applied to who did not give me one- although they were well worth the money). Anybody know of any must-sees in Ithaca? I will be visiting the ASW in April but will be arriving Thursday and have the whole day to explore

From what I understand it is technically different, but the reserve list gets revisited in May/Early June. The wait-list is then created from those applicants who don't get admitted of the reserve list, but also aren't outright rejected. Of course I could be mistaken in this, as it seems to vary a bit from cycle to cycle.

Yes I think this is it. More reserves get in than people on the official waitlist. Its kind of like the difference in the priority waitlist / regular waitlist at GULC.

Read through damn near that entire thread, from what I understand the Reserve list is like Pre-WL for Cornell.... You can either go Reserve > Ding, Reserve >WL, or Reserve > Acceptance.

Lol @ one year Cornell not taking anyone from the Reserve list though...
