I sent a negotiation email last Monday and haven't heard back yet. Curious as to how it works out. Going to be aggressive with them, though.

Well, they did say they would get back to all of us regarding financial aid by the end of this week, so I don't think you will be waiting much longer, they're probably working on finalizing awards.

In general, does anyone know if UVA is more amenable to negotiations than Michigan? Michigan shot me down pretty quickly, hoping UVA is nicer.

It's a little annoying to be literally one of the first few people to be accepted at UVA this cycle, and 6+ months later, still haven't been told about my merit aid award .

FYI for those of you negotiating scholarships, the recycled admit money given out after the 1st has a new deposit deadline of April 30. Since a number of those were initial admits, you might have another opportunity to be reconsidered at that time. (As long as you're comfortable paying multiple deposits. )

Well if we don't hear back today on second round scholarships, I will be very close to calling BS on Dean Richard's email. She said decisions would be released "early next (this) week". If they come out tomorrow, that is not early, it is mid-week!

Good point. Then again, this is the school that employs 17% of their grads so that they can boast a 98% employed at graduation figure. I have no faith in law school admissions personnel in general .

But, if UVA releases schollies by 6pm EST today, I will totally wear this jacket to work:

I called this morning and the lady who answered just said "soon." Not a very helpful answer

I'm just kind of worried because I haven't had ANY response to my question re: scholly negotiation. Did other people get some sort of confirmation e-mail or anything?

I also didn't get any acknowledgement. There are a few reports where someone sent in a matching scholarhip or tried to negotiate and UVA just didn't respond, so that def raises some concern.

And the fact that UVA is missing its own timeline If you weren't ready to send stuff out last week then why would you even pin yourself down with a date??

I plan to just call and breathe slowly into the phone, saying nothing at all. That will freak them out even more.
