I might be wrong here but it looks like the recent waves of acceptances have been mostly for early Jan submits and I bet they would have one or two more rounds of acceptances by the end of the month/early Feb to accept people who submitted in mid/late Jan.. and then.. probably stay silent for while ..

sounds about right to me. it seems like they're not on track with last year. probably partially due to sandy and the "weird" cycle

i bet there will be some admits for oct/nov/dec for those people that were on the cusp. they probably didn't want to make a decision on them before seeing the december test applicants

I'm just going off past cycles. I'd be very surprised if you don't get into CCN though. Be patient.

First UR since 11/5. It's a long shot but I'd be ecstatic if I got in!

This is what I'm telling myself. They have looked at my file twice, most recently on 12/26. That sounds like hesitation right? Wavering on acceptance? Let's see what December holds first, then decide?

Or maybe they just fished me out of the reject pile for another laugh.

Weirdly, no updates since sending in my new grades for this or any other school.

In today! (My first acceptance ) Got a phone call at around 4pm (but I couldn't check the voicemail until later because my silly phone doesn't work at home - reception issues).

I wouldn't give up hope on February yet. Just look at the 2009-10 cycle's graph - there's a sizable chunk of admits there. Also we got a huge wave of admits a few days ago, which already goes against the 2010-11 cycle's graph where only a few admits seem to occur after January 4th. Here's hoping that the 20% drop in applicants helps us all out this year. Greenwich Village this time next year, everyone.

oh, right, haha, didn't notice that. I'm still going to try to remain hopeful. I was checking mylsn.info and it looks like people who applied around the same time as I did with roughly the same stats as me received their acceptances as late as late February - one even in March if I remember correctly. It's going to be pretty hard to remain optimistic towards the end of February, but it felt pretty good to see that people in my position in the previous years were by no means out of the running at this point. Might be helpful for others to check how their numbers and application timeline match up. Personally, I'm going to try to sit tight, hope for the best, prepare for the worst, and try to not visit this thread and my status checker five times a day. Seriously driving me nuts.

haha you should be fine. based on your UR date, you have not missed out on acceptance calls yet. It is when you start seeing people who submitted after you get in but not you.. you need to start worrying about your chances.

I'm thoroughly sad thanks to this thread. I had no idea that NYU essentially stops admitting applicants after Feb. I'm stuck UR as of 12/18. When does NYU start sending out rejections?
