Does anyone know the odds of getting in off the waitlist? Is there any chance at a scholly? I really like UVA but I don't think I could make the choice to attend there without some $.

Just based on the little I've seen, you can get in off the wait list and get a scholarship. However, I think you would have to have a fairly substantial change in your GPA or LSAT from when they rendered the wait list decision.

UVA has stated that they don't YP. My guess is that a little of it goes on, but not to the extreme that many claim. I think schools that are on the cusp with rankings may do a little to give them a slight edge in the USNWR rankings, but I would imagine it's minor and limited.

I think even cursory research would reveal that it occurs and that this year, with fewer applications, it is happening fairly often. Otherwise UVA must be hearing from a glut of underqualified applicants with 179 lsats and 3.8 gpas

WL'd 3/7/12. UVA is my dream school, I only applied because of a waiver. I will be hanging on as long as they will let me!
