I feel like here's what happened: the committee is in their meeting. There are mountains of applications all around. At the very same time, the cleaning person is in there vacuuming. My application (and maybe yours!) falls off of one of the mountains without being noticed, and at the same time the cleaning person vacuums it up. Also without noticing.

They are also all wearing dark suits with dark sunglasses. Including the cleaning person and Death, who is lurking in the corner with his scythe.

Ugh. And I'm happy that people are getting decisions and don't want to be a whiner, but people are receiving decisions that went in to review TWO MONTHS after we did. Frustrating.

The good news is that it's still only 4:15 in Seattle (I'm in EST) and so we could possibly get something yet. And someone else already mentioned that there may be too many to update in one day. Maybe tomorrow...? Even though it's Saturday? And hopefully they send the letters out at the same time, even if they don't update the status checkers.

Does anyone know whether or not you can tell from looking at the envelope? Like, do they send big packets for acceptances? I don't know why I would even want to know this. lol

definitely seems like they were working on the 1/24s from what I'm reading

From experience last year, rejection was a small envelope.

I'm pretty sure acceptances are big, but not 100%

Yeah and the rejection said something like "we regret we cannot offer you acceptance" and I saw the word acceptance through the envelope. Hopes soared and were then promptly crushed.

It really makes you speculate. Maybe all the decisions today were final review/last-committee rejections, and those that are still in review are admitor WL. Maybe it's the other way around, and the decisions today were admits/WL. Maybe it's a mix, and they are just updating the statuses as they go. Maybe the people who got a decision today were in final review yesterday and those who got reviewed today will not see a change until Monday (basing this on the user who works in the building saying they had a room booked for yesterday and today). Maybe I'm over-analyzing it. Either way I'm pretty sure I have few more wrinkles and white hairs because of the UW.

did you make the call...I'm curious if I should...I probably won't get the letter in Maine before I leave for spring break and will have very little time after I get back to make a decision (UMN's deadline)

LSAC really needs to update their shitty status checker system. They should have an option to receive an email when the status changes.

I'm sure they just didn't get around to updating everyone's status today. If Le told someone that the last committee mtgs were today, then that makes sense.
