oh sorry! didn't mean to discourage anyone (except myself, maybe). I'm still awaiting word from UCLA too.descartesb4thehorse wrote:thanks for cheering us up!ku1185 wrote:Judging by LSN and TLS's decision date stats, it seems today (first day of third week of March) is the last big batch of acceptances. Plus, that's just from a very quick glance. There ARE people who are accepted after that date, but I noticed far more WL/rej. than acceptances. However, if you're numbers are good, you still got a shot.
EDIT: There is also the possibility that the data is skewed due to the late notices. Perhaps people didn't bother to update their LSN dates or report acceptances as their cycle may have virtually been complete at that point.

Re: UCLA? 2011
Is it frustrating to anyone else how slow and impersonal UCLA admissions office/process are? I had my sights set on UCLA Law, received a fee waiver even, but now have $$ at NYU and in at Columbia and have to decide fairly soon to accept the scholarship offer. I know these schools are much higher ranked than UCLA but I live in California now and wanted to stay in southern california. I applied 12/12 and have not heard anything back. I even (annoyingly) attempted to call today to "check" on my application and she would not even take my name or give any information. I guess at this point I am becoming more excited about moving to New York, but would at least have liked the option....
and yes, I know this may be a stupid complaint and sound whiny, but come on UCLA..

Re: UCLA? 2011
does anyone know what tuition increases will look like? i am in at UCLA w/ $73,000 offered in LOANS... ahhh. and I'm in at Vandy w/ a $50,000 grant over 3 years. Vandy is also cheaper than UCLA OOS... I'm wondering what out-of-state tuition is going to look like in the next three years? I can only see 2010-2011 tuition on the website http://www.law.ucla.edu/prospective-stu ... fault.aspx

Actually, I have found most of my schools (all 5, ha) to be pretty impersonal, except Berkeley. For UCLA, at least the Dean called when I did get in. And he did thank me for my patience, so that was nice.

If you go to UCLA, you really need to establish residency and get in state for 2l and 3l. I hear it's relatively easy to do for the UCs (I don't exactly know since I am a CA resident already), but if you stay in CA for your 1l summer, it seems like the general consensus is that you are good. Is there not some info on the website about establishing residency?paralegal2009 wrote:does anyone know what tuition increases will look like? i am in at UCLA w/ $73,000 offered in LOANS... ahhh. and I'm in at Vandy w/ a $50,000 grant over 3 years. Been silent for a good month now with the exception of 1-2 acceptances here and there.

I love/hate how some of the only times that this thread moves are when people are discussing complete/application dates

What's crazy to me is that they ARE waitlisting and rejecting people, so it seems like there's just this huge stack of apps on a desk somewhere, and every couple of days they pick up between 3 and 5 and just go through them kind of haphazardly.

Re: UCLA? 2011
Hi everyone!
I just submitted my LOCI via email today (to the main admissions email..really don't have the guts to email Dean Schwartz himself lol) but should I expect a confirmation email? Or should I call tomorrow or something to confirm receipt?
Thanks so much and best of luck to all of us still waiting!
[Edit] Received confirmation email

6 months of waiting is borderline unethical

Isn't April 1st the deadline for UCLA to notify us?
