Re: UCLA?
Funny story...
SO I called the admissions office and asked them for an update on my application. They gave me the run around and told me I'd get a call, a letter, or an email when a decision was made. OK. hang up.
45 minutes later, I get a call... I got accepted! URM boost- I love you.
Good luck to all those still waiting. I really mean this sincerely.

Re: UCLA?
Anyone know what UCLA's policy is on merit-based aid?
Vandy and Texas both voluntarily gave me substantial amounts unexpectedly and they are similarly ranked as compared to UCLA. Would be hard to take UCLA over both of them with nothing though I happen to be fond of UCLA...

Re: UCLA?
Haha fair enough. By "voluntarily" I simply meant that they were unexpected and I hadn't filled out any form requesting the scholarships/ consideration for the scholarships or indicated any need for aid.DallasCowboy wrote:lol @ "voluntarily". how did u get your other scholarships
Regardless though, does anyone know how UCLA merit-based scholarships work? Do they give them and if so, how long after receiving the admissions decisions do they generally let you know if you will be getting one and the amount? Is there room for negotiation?

In their acceptance letter, they asked you to let them know if you get a better finacial package from another schoolJericwithers wrote:Yes, yes and instantly, and yes.Jrugg88 wrote:Haha fair enough. Re: UCLA?
With a 3.5 (assuming that's your real GPA), you shouldn't have considered UCLA a safety. Far from it.los blancos wrote:same here. law school admissions are so annoying. that's two safeties now that have waitlisted me. and they'll be getting withdrawals ASAP.phonepro wrote:i got waitlisted today via email.

Re: UCLA?
I don't understand why UCLA would take so long to get back to somebody who applied in late October. How would they expect somebody like that to ever attend if deposit deadlines for other schools are approaching?

They don't, unless UCLA is a reach school for them.DallasCowboy wrote:I don't understand why UCLA would take so long to get back to somebody who applied in late October. How would they expect somebody like that to ever attend if deposit deadlines for other schools are approaching?

Ooooh, I didn't realize there was another ASD - I'd love to visit. I know there is another thread for Epstein applicants, but anybody out there been accepted into that program as of late??
