They had said hold people would hear mid to late April. It's mid-April.
I don't want to wait another 14 days!!!

After a cycle, what's two weeks? I find it refreshing, but then again I only got held this week.dreaming wrote:They had said hold people would hear mid to late April. It's mid-April.I don't want to wait another 14 days!!!

How is that relevant? Would that cause them to hold the decision?Desert Fox wrote:Have you signed up for the June LSAT?SaintClarence27 wrote:I still haven't gotten anything. Complete 2/4.

Nope. This is it for me. If I don't get into NU, I'm Illinois-bound. I got a decent offer and negotiated it a bit higher, so at the very least, it will be a cost-effective education. The only real issue is that it will be exceedingly hard for the g/f to find work.Desert Fox wrote:Have you signed up for the June LSAT?SaintClarence27 wrote:I still haven't gotten anything. Re: Northwestern 2010
The reason I say it is because it is really hard to get into school when you are below both medians as you are. So I'd expect a wait list at best. And taking in june might help you get off it.SaintClarence27 wrote:Nope. This is it for me. If I don't get into NU, I'm Illinois-bound. Re: Northwestern 2010
Yeah, I knew it was a stretch at best - a little frustrating considering my PTs were significantly better. With this current situation, my real hope is that someone finds my PS interesting (I do think that with my WE I have a unique perspective), and gives me a little boost that way. If not, I got a fee waiver. That's the way it crumbles, cookie-wise.
I've actually been very pleased with Illinois. They've been first class the entire way, and Dean Pless has been especially helpful. I particularly liked how open they were about the admissions process, and of course the industrial strength thumb drive.

I'm still somewhat surprised I was held instead of dinged outright. I'm not holding my breath, but if I get in it'll be an interesting decision if they give me any $.

Are you straight from UG? This is the only reason my numbers twin should be pleasantly surprised by a hold at NU.los blancos wrote:I'm still somewhat surprised I was held instead of dinged outright. I'm not holding my breath, but if I get in it'll be an interesting decision if they give me any $.

Just withdrew yesterday from my Scholly offer, good luck to y'all. Sad to let go but Berkeley's a better fit, or NYU if they come thru. Chose love over money.

I'm the same way, and I've been complete since 2/9. Both numbers are below the median, but I am a URM (AA male). I have a few years of work experience and my interview went well, but I'm assuming that I haven't been waitlisted/rejected because of my URM status.SaintClarence27 wrote:I still haven't gotten anything. i don't really have anything new to add (though i did call yesterday to ask when people on hold would hear back. the answer this time: may 1), but i just wanted some folks to commiserate with. where are you guys headed if you don't get off nu's hold?

Dook, but I doubt NU would sway me that late without significant monies. I would withdraw, but I would feel guilty after filling out that hold form saying that I wouldn't withdraw. I don't have a chance anyways.MirandaHobbes wrote:i don't really have anything new to add (though i did call yesterday to ask when people on hold would hear back. the answer this time: may 1), but i just wanted some folks to commiserate with. where are you guys headed if you don't get off nu's hold?
May 1st? And to think I seriously thought I would have a decision 8 weeks after December 1st.....

i was surprised by may 1. it's a saturday and it's definitely not "mid to late april."

surely they mean after May 1, when they have time to see who paid seat depositsMirandaHobbes wrote:Jericwithers wrote:Dook, but I doubt NU would sway me that late without significant monies.
