Someone should copy and paste this to the OP for anyone who thinks Duke will give them an expedited decision due to a weekend 10th day.AnonymousPython wrote:Mine came this past Sunday (my 10th day), just after 10pm. When you're non-PT, you want PT. When you're on PT, you want expedited PT.

FYI to anyone planning on visiting -- if you're doing an individual visit on a different weekend than the ASW, Duke won't reimburse for travel. I asked the other day since I can't make it to the ASW.

It will almost certainly be the 10th day, no matter what that day is.AnonymousPython wrote:Mine came this past Sunday (my 10th day), just after 10pm. On a holiday weekend.strawberrieee wrote:I know Duke adcoms released PT decisions on weekend, but do we know if Saturday was more likely than Sunday?

When did you receive the decision (time wise)? I applied mid-November and I have been dying to hear anything from Duke since. Also sorry about the waitlist, hopefully since you are priority you will still be accepted soon!SupCutie wrote:First school decision; applied in early November. Priority waitlist. Yikes!

At the risk of drawing lymenheimer's ire - do people know if its possible yet to RSVP for admitted students open house? I'm looking around the Admitted Students website and can't find anything to that effect. I think we'll get an email about this when it opens up, but wanted to ask in case its already open somewhere.

On the Accepted Students website, it says that more info will be posted as the weekend approaches! They may send an email, not sure, but I'm sure if you check back in a month or so it should be there.stillplayspokemon wrote:At the risk of drawing lymenheimer's ire - do people know if its possible yet to RSVP for admitted students open house? Does anyone think sending a non-solicited "Why Duke" has made a significant difference in getting accepted/ scholarships? I applied a little bit late, early January, and am thinking about emailing a "Why Duke" this week. My LSAT is 168 and my GPA is between 25-50, so I could use a little bump. Thanks.

From what I understand, supplemental essays are mostly useful in guarding against yield protection. That being said, it couldn't hurt.calilaw33 wrote:Does anyone think sending a non-solicited "Why Duke" has made a significant difference in getting accepted/ scholarships? Priority Reserve off of PT. 170 LSAT and 3.65 GPA. Extremely disappointed, as myLSN showed a 90+% chance of getting in. What a punch to the gut
Anyone have any thoughts as to whatmight have happened? Something in my application they didn't like? Just too late in the cycle for someone with those numbers (which are good, but not great for Duke)....any input would be appreciated.

A poorly written one could actually hurt.RZ5646 wrote:From what I understand, supplemental essays are mostly useful in guarding against yield protection. Once you've been admitted, is there a deadline to apply for financial aid? I'm still waiting on my parents to give me their 2015 financial information...
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
