Do I need to add an addendum about my 3 LSAT scores?
I took them until I got a 170, that is all though.

I would wait another week before getting antsy. LSAC probably has it but is backlogged and I think it can take a while for them to say they've received it.carolinanne1 wrote:Hillz- It was sent about 10 days ago. Transcript has been sent whoo. DHL says it's been received but no update from LSAC yet

Hi! Long time lurker, finally posting. Such an awesome thread!
Anyway, is anyone else doing MSU's Personal Statement webinar right now with Karen Buttenbaum (who works with Spivey)?

Is it possible to change to an ED application after you get started on an RD one?

Yup. Just fill out the form for the ED or change your answer choice to the option where it asks which type of application.YeezusPiece wrote:Is it possible to change to an ED application after you get started on an RD one?
It varies on the school. If my generic answer above does not answer it, emailing admissions for the school will do the trick

This is assuming you're before the deadline.

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
I did a rudimentary search of TLS, but I didn't find much Resume discussion. Is the consensus that it's not very important and needs to be filled out or does everybody know how to do something I don't?
I have 1 year W/E at the same company. I worked a little through college, but it was bartending/etc. I have some volunteer work. But my resume is like 3/4 of a page, slightly more. Is this bad.
More specifically, do people add a "skills" section?

Yes, it's important and you should do it. Check out your future school's webpage for a sample that you can use: http://www.law.harvard.edu/prospective/ ... esume2.pdfPeanutsNJam wrote:I did a rudimentary search of TLS, but I didn't find much Resume discussion. I think when you put it all together with all of your education info, work info, the 1" margins, fancy spaces and lines, it will probably be close to a page. Yours sounds just fine. There's much debate over whether 1 or 2 pages is the best thing to do (for people who have a lot), but Spivey says going on to a second page is fine if you actually need it (most KJDs won't) unless of course a school specifically says to limit to one page or do anything special.
ETA: I didn't add a skills section.

So I was sitting in class this morning and when I looked up from my notebook, the girl sitting in front of me was wearing a sweatshirt that said "DING" on the back in huge letters. I asked her and yes it is her last name, but I'm still taking it as a sign that my life is over and I'll get dinged by all of the schools I haven't heard back from yet.

Haha talk about a bad omen - I hope you hear back soon with an acceptance just to get the cycle started right.lilith66 wrote:So I was sitting in class this morning and when I looked up from my notebook, the girl sitting in front of me was wearing a sweatshirt that said "DING" on the back in huge letters. Oh good just found out LSAC takes into my first year grades (which don't count towards my degree) into account for their degree evaluation.
Fuck this I'm done.

Internationally educated, yeah. It'll be average, above average etc.. Still, it's not going to look great and it's not like I have anything else pulling my application up. Also just saw that some people successfully get their schools to remove their first year grades from their transcripts so they don't get counted, so I feel doubly screwed over.smccgrey wrote:Aren't you international? Sorry about all this self pity. Just starting to feel like every time I start to feel hopeful about this whole law school thing something else gets thrown at me. Ugh.

Checking in! Used TLS some during the LSAT process (retake in September), but now I'm ready to jump into apps and looking forward to getting advice from the TLS braintrust. I can't believe we're already at the end of October. My goal is to have all my apps in my December 15, but I feel so behind with so many people already having submitted.

Welcome back! I've found TLS has been extraordinarily helpful in crafting my application package. Don't worry about being terribly behind, all the admissions officers I've talked to say that although there is a slight preference for early applications, being early won't tip the balance at all compared to other metrics, so no need to feel like you're behind.Chris McCandless wrote:Checking in! Anyone else struggling with motivation to write their PS? I miss the discipline and structure of LSAT prep.

It was really hard for me, too! My husband has been telling me that I need to go back to LSAT studying because I was much more pleasant then. You're exactly right - it's the unstructured nature of PS writing that makes it so hard. With drilling, you can immediately check your answers and see if you got them correct or not.Chris McCandless wrote:Thanks!antiworldly wrote:Welcome back! Exactly! And you knew exactly how much time to devote to it. Every Saturday and Sunday I knew that I would PT from 9am to 1:45pm. I'd listen to a certain song while LSATqa graded my test, then I'd review it for an hour while I ate lunch. Now I'm like ehhhh let's clean my apartment some, and read some TLS... Damn, it's 10:40am and I haven't written anything.hillz wrote:It was really hard for me, too! I'm in the same boat. Everything is ready to go except for my PS. Prepping for the LSAT is easy - a nice structured activity, no inspiration required, just a good night's sleep and a pot of coffee. Writing something about yourself on the other hand... ugh.Chris McCandless wrote:Exactly! And you knew exactly how much time to devote to it.
