I hope if I'm rejected today that it at least happens at 3:42 so I can smile a little.

I haven't been following this thread very closely... 3:42?

Someone predicted that a wave of emails would come at 3:42 a couple of days ago and then a bunch came at like 3:41.

Did anyone else get the 12/15 → 12/16 status checker update? Being updated on the same day as a wave of admits while not getting an acceptance is making me extremely paranoid. My dates before were 11/3 → 12/6 before so including yesterday and today that's a grand total of 4 updates so far and still no good news I'm definitely panicking a little now.

I have 11/3, 12/6, 12/15 but no 12/16 update. No idea what any of it means, but don't panic just yet. I have a 3.5/170, are your stats better/comparable?

170/3.3, decent to good softs. Honestly, I know I shouldn't expect any more than a WL with those #s but for some reason I've been becoming increasingly optimistic these past few weeks. Looks like it might backfire soon T_T. Anyway I don't mean to be a downer or anything, grats to everyone who got accepted so far and GL to the rest of us!!

Same numbers. Stuck at 11/8. I've pretty much given up hope.

It's funny because when I visited Ithaca, I randomly ran into the professor I TA'd for in undergrad (on the other side of the country). It was a crazy coincidence. Apparently he's on sabbatical and doing some research at Johnson and offered me a research position if I got into Cornell law. :/

Also, I just signed up for the GMAT as well.

Are you considering dual-degrees?

I want to practice law, but am loosely considering dual degrees if they make sense based on my options. If I am not happy with my LS options, then I may consider trying to use B-school as a back door to L-school.

I realize that for most cases that would be harder to do, but for applicants with backgrounds similar to mine in terms of education and work experience (military academy / combat leadership), it's typically the opposite. I know very very many peers going to Wharton and HBS with low 3.x GPAs and low 600 GMATs. And, personally, I find the GMAT more suited to my strengths based on my education. I enjoyed the LSAT material more because it was very new to me. Though completely unfamiliar with formal logic, I had 4 semesters of math/calc/statistics as part of my schools core-curriculum

ah.. i see. kudos to having such a developed 'back-up' plan. with your background i would be surprised if you had LS options that didn't satisfy your expectations.. but who ever really knows.

FWIW applied on 10/29 and trad splitter LSAT>75th, GPA<25th

I wouldn't worry too much. You're not alone (i'm 11/3 - 12/6 - 12/15 - 12/16). I'm clueless as to what it means

Yeah, but my status changed to "Congratulations! You are admitted!" I'm not sure if the date updated before that.
